Troubleshooting Avast Mobile Security Premium activation issues

Follow the steps in this article if Avast Mobile Security does not detect your paid subscription and the app displays No license found when you attempt to restore your subscription from Google Play Store.

The instructions in this article apply only if you purchased a paid version of Avast Mobile Security via Google Play Store.

Instructions

These steps can differ slightly depending on your device model, Android version, and vendor customizations.

To clear Google Play Store data:

  1. Open your device Settings and go to Apps.
  2. Select Google Play Store.
  3. Tap StorageClear Data (or just Clear Data). If prompted, tap OK to confirm.
When you clear Google Play Store app data, all your settings for this app are removed.
  1. Tap the Google Play Store icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app. If prompted, accept the Terms of service.
  2. Open Avast Mobile Security, then tap Upgrade in the top-right corner.
  3. Select (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  4. Tap Restore from Google Play.

The app should automatically retrieve and activate your Avast Mobile Security subscription from Google Play Store.

Troubleshooting

If clearing Google Play Store data did not resolve your issue, follow these steps to connect to the correct Google Account and restore your purchase:

  1. Uninstall Avast Mobile Security from your Android device.
  2. Tap the Google Play Store icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  3. Tap Menu (three lines) in the top-left corner of the screen.
  4. If the account that you are currently logged in to is not the account that you used during your purchase, follow the relevant step below:
    • At the top of the screen, tap the icon for the Google Account you used during purchase to switch to this account.
    • If you don't see the correct account listed, refer to the following article from Google Play Help and follow instructions under Switch between accountsSwitch accounts on the Google Play website on a mobile device:
If you do not remember which account you used for purchase, tap AccountPurchase history to see a list of subscriptions assigned to the currently selected Google Account.
  1. Install the latest version of Avast Mobile Security from Google Play Store.
  2. After installation, open the app and tap Get StartedUpgrade Now.
  3. Select (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  4. Tap Restore from Google Play.

Avast Mobile Security should now detect your subscription.

Further recommendations

If, after performing all steps from the instructions above, the app still does not detect your subscription, proceed as follows:

  • Join the Avast Android beta program to install the latest beta version of Avast Mobile Security and perform again steps 5.-7. from the troubleshooting instructions above.
  • Contact Avast Support by following these steps:
    1. Open Avast Mobile Security and tap (three lines) in the top-left corner.
    2. Scroll down and tap Help & Support.
    3. Tap FAQs 5 times.
    4. Provide your email address and a detailed description of your issue. Then, tap Submit Message.

An Avast Support representative will contact you as soon as possible.
