1. Click the button below to download the Avast SecureLine VPN setup file, and save it to a familiar location on your PC (by default, downloaded files are saved to your Downloads folder).

2. Right-click the downloaded setup file avast_vpn_online_setup.exe, and select Run as administrator from the context menu.
   If you are unable to authorize the installation of Avast SecureLine VPN, refer to the following article for advice: Managing administrative accounts on your Windows PC.
3. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
4. To change the default setup language, click the current language in the top-right corner of the screen and select your preferred language. Then, click Install.
5. Wait while setup installs Avast SecureLine VPN on your PC. SecureLine VPN opens automatically after installation.
6. Click Continue twice to go through the tutorial, then click Get started.
7. Click the red (OFF) slider to connect to Avast SecureLine VPN servers.
8. Select one of the options below:
   • Start free trial: Start a free trial to access Avast SecureLine VPN for a limited time period. You are prompted to enter payment details, but you will not be charged until the trial subscription ends. If you do not want to continue using Avast SecureLine VPN after the free trial expires, you need to cancel the trial subscription.
   • Buy now: Follow the on-screen instructions to purchase an Avast SecureLine VPN subscription.
   • Already purchased?: If you already purchased Avast SecureLine VPN before installation, activate your paid subscription. For detailed activation instructions, refer to the following article: Activating an Avast SecureLine VPN subscription.

Avast SecureLine VPN is now installed on your PC.

If you experience any installation issues:

1. Ensure your PC meets the minimum system requirements and your Windows is up-to-date.
   • Windows 11 except Mixed Reality and IoT Edition; Windows 10 except Mobile and IoT Edition (32 or 64-bit); Windows 8/8.1 except RT and Starter Edition (32 or 64-bit); Windows 7 SP1 or later, any Edition (32 or 64-bit)
   • Windows fully compatible PC with Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 processor or above (must support SSE3 instructions); ARM-based devices are not supported
   • Advanced features, like Smart VPN and improved connection method are available for Windows 11 and Windows 10
   • 256 MB RAM or above
   • 300 MB free space on the hard disk
   • Internet connection to download, activate, and use the VPN service
   • Optimal standard screen resolution no less than 1024 x 768 pixels is recommended
2. Check that the downloaded setup file is not corrupted. For instructions, refer to the following article: Troubleshooting installation errors caused by corrupted setup files.
3. If you use third-party antivirus software, try temporarily disabling your protection (this applies only if you do not use Avast Antivirus). For more information, refer to the following article: Temporarily disabling other antivirus software.
4. Restart your PC, then try to install Avast SecureLine VPN again by following the exact steps in this article.
