Which versions of Windows does Avast no longer support?
Avast no longer provides support for Avast Free Antivirus and Avast Premium Security (previously Avast Premier, Avast Pro Antivirus, and Avast Internet Security) installed on the following operating systems:
- Windows 7 Service Pack 1 without the Convenience Rollup Update
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Microsoft Windows XP
Although you can still download and use Avast Antivirus on these operating systems, you will not receive application updates, and we will be unable to provide technical support. Therefore, we strongly advise upgrading to newer versions of Windows and Avast Antivirus to access enhanced features and higher detection rates.
What is the last Avast Antivirus version still compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista?
The final version compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista is Avast Antivirus 18.8. Users on these operating systems will remain on this version and will no longer receive application updates.
What is the last Avast Antivirus version still compatible with Windows 7 without the Convenience Rollup Update?
The final version compatible with Windows 7 (without the Convenience Rollup Update) is Avast Antivirus 21.2. Users on this operating system will remain on this version and will not receive further application updates.
Can I update Avast Antivirus to a newer version on an unsupported operating system?
No. You cannot update Avast Antivirus to a newer version if you are using it on an unsupported operating system. To access the latest version of Avast, you need to upgrade to a supported operating system.
