Syncing Avast Secure Browser

Syncing is currently only available in the latest beta version of Avast Secure Browser for Windows and Mac. You can download the latest beta versions of Avast Secure Browser using the links below:

After you sign in to Avast Secure Browser with your Avast Account, your browsing history and bookmarks are continuously shared and synchronized across all of your devices with Avast Secure Browser installed that are linked with the same Avast Account.

This article contains instructions to enable syncing in Avast Secure Browser and manage sync settings on each of your connected devices.

Enable sync

  1. Double-click the Avast Secure Browser icon on your Windows desktop to open the browser.
  2. Click the Current user icon to the right of the address bar, then select Sign in.
  3. Enter your Avast Account credentials, then click Continue. Alternatively, select Create an account to create a new Avast Account.
  4. Select which data you want to sync between devices, then click Confirm sync.

You are now signed in to Avast Secure Browser with your Avast Account and syncing is enabled.

To add subsequent devices to your sync group, sign in to Avast Secure Browser on another device with the same Avast Account.

  1. Click GoApplications in the menu bar, then double click the Avast Secure Browser icon to open the browser.
  2. Click the Current user icon to the right of the address bar, then select Sign in.
  3. Enter your Avast Account credentials, then click Continue. Alternatively, select Create an account to create a new Avast Account.
  4. Select which data you want to sync between devices, then click Confirm sync.

You are now signed in to Avast Secure Browser with your Avast Account and syncing is enabled.

To add subsequent devices to your sync group, sign in to Avast Secure Browser on another device with the same Avast Account.

Manage settings

To adjust your sync settings in Avast Secure Browser:

  1. Double-click the Avast Secure Browser icon on your Windows desktop to open the browser.
  2. Click the Current user icon to the right of the address bar, then click Settings (the gear icon).
  3. The following options are available:
    • Sign out: Signs you out of the current Avast Account and disables syncing on this device. No data is removed from the current device, but any subsequent bookmarks and browsing history that you create will not be synchronized with your other devices.
    • My Avast Account: Opens the My Account and Data screen in your Avast Account.
    • Manage what you sync: To stop syncing either your Bookmarks or History on this device, ensure Customise sync is selected, then click the green (ON) slider next to the relevant data type so that it changes to gray (OFF).
    • Encryption options: Allows you to specify exactly how your encrypted data is protected.
