What is an Avast Account?

Avast Account is a portal designed to help you manage Avast services on all your devices which are registered for one email address.

Features available in Avast Account:

  • Download and check the details of your licenses for Avast products
  • Remotely control your mobile devices with the Anti-Theft feature in the Avast Mobile Securtiy app
  • Find protection status and basic data about devices connected to the account
  • Log into the Avast Forum

How can I create an Avast Account?

If you don't have an Avast Account yet, you can create one by visiting my.avast.com and click Register to sign up.

You can create new login credentials, or sign up using your existing logins details for your Facebook or Google+ accounts.

Is my Avast Account created automatically when I purchase an Avast product?

An Avast Account is not created automatically when you purchase an Avast product subscription. You can create an account manually with an email address that is not already registered. When the account is created, your Avast Account username is your registered email address.

Do I have to connect to my Avast Account with my device?

No, connecting your device is optional. If you are interested in the device activity log and other information, you can connect your device. Linking a mobile device that has Avast Mobile Securtiy with Anti-Theft installed is especially useful because you can control the device remotely if the device is stolen or lost. These remote control features are not implemented for PC and Mac devices.

Please remember that linking a device to your Avast Account does not affect the security status of your device, nor the use of your license file.

Is my device less secure if it is not connected to my Avast Account?

No, your security status is not affected. Avast Account allows you to manage your licenses, see a summary of your devices, and remotely control mobile devices. However, the Avast security settings and features are not managed from the Avast Account.

Why didn't my device appear in my Avast Account yet?

After you connect a device to your Avast Account, the device appears in your list of connected devices, but it may require several minutes before the security status and other device information appears on the page. The device status is not updated in real-time due to the large amount of data that we process. Please be patient and check again later.

Can I remove devices from my Avast Account?

If you need to remove a device from your Avast Account:

  1. Log into your Avast Account.
  2. Select the device you want to remove and the device details appear.
  3. In the device details screen select Settings.
  4. Click Delete from Account.

What if I forget the password to my Avast Account?

You can reset your password using the recover password page.

Can I change the email address I use to log into my Avast Account?

You can change the primary email used to log into your Avast Account. You can also add additional email addresses to your account, but you can only use one email address as your account login.

To manage your emails on your account:

  1. Log into your Avast Account.
  2. Click on your account name.
  3. Select Manage emails from the context menu.
  4. Enter the new email address and click on Add New Email.
  5. Check your email inbox and open the email from Avast with the subject: Please verify your email address. Click the Verify Email link in the verification email.
  6. Your newly added email should be verified now. Use the refresh button in your browser if the status is not updated or log into your Avast Account again.
  7. To set your newly added email address as your primary email for logging into your Avast Account, click Set as primary next to your newly added email on the Manage emails screen.

A confirmation message appears. The updated email is now your primary email to use when you log into your Avast Account.

How can I access my mobile devices via Avast Account?

When Avast Mobile Securtiy with Anti-Theft is installed on your mobile device, you can manage several settings such as your Avast PIN, track the location of your device, and control your device remotely from the Avast Account. This feature can be especially useful in the event that your mobile device is lost or stolen.
