What is an Avast Account?

An Avast Account is a portal for managing your paid Avast subscriptions. The following options are available via your Avast Account.

  • Subscriptions: Find tools and information to help you manage your Avast subscriptions. Options include download links for all of your purchased products, valid activation codes, and the number of devices where you are currently using the subscription.
  • Billing: Check the next billing date for each subscription, and unsubscribe directly via your Avast Account if you do not want to be charged.
  • Payments: Review a complete list of the payments you have made to Avast. Options include requesting a refund, and finding your Order ID number.

Is an Avast Account created automatically for me when I purchase an Avast product?

No. An Avast Account is not automatically created when you purchase an Avast subscription. You can create an Avast Account manually with an email address that is not already linked to a different Avast Account.

To ensure that a previously purchased Avast subscription appears automatically in your new Avast Account, register the Avast Account with the same email address that you provided at checkout.

What if I don't know the password or email address for my Avast Account?

You can reset your password using the recover password page.

I don't know my email address

We recommend checking if an email address is already in the Avast Account database:

  1. Go to the recover password page.
  2. Enter the email address that you think may be correct, and click Continue.

If you see the message An account with this email doesn't exist - yet, the email address is not registered. You can create a new Avast Account with this email address or try entering a different email address.

Subscriptions

Where can I find information about my Avast subscriptions?

To see a list of your Avast subscriptions:

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Subscriptions tile.

The Subscriptions screen displays your Avast subscriptions.

How can I cancel an Avast subscription via my Avast Account?

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Subscriptions tile.
  3. Click Unsubscribe under the subscription that you want to cancel.

It is not possible to cancel an Avast subscription purchased via Google Play Store or the App Store using your Avast Account. To learn how to cancel a subscription via one of these vendors, refer to the following article:

What if a subscription does not appear in my Avast Account?

When you purchase an Avast subscription via the official Avast website, the subscription automatically appears in your Avast Account if the email address that you provide at checkout is linked to your Avast Account. You can check which email addresses are currently linked to your Avast Account via Account settingsEmail management.

If you provided a different email address at checkout, you can manually add the missing subscription to your Avast Account. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Payments

How can I see my payment history?

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Payments tile.

The Payments screen displays a full list of your transactions with Avast.

The Payments screen does not show purchases that were processed by Google Play Store or the App Store. Additionally, you only see payments made using the email addresses that are linked to your Avast Account. You can check which email addresses are currently linked to your Avast Account via Account settingsEmail management.

How can I find my Avast order ID number?

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Payments tile.
  3. The order number for each transaction is shown under Order ID.

How can I request a refund?

If you are not completely satisfied with your Avast product, contact us within 30 days of purchase to receive a full refund. To request a refund directly via your Avast Account:

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Payments tile.
  3. Click Request a refund next to the order that you want a refund for.
    The Request a refund option only appears next to orders that are eligible for a refund.
  4. Select Request a refund, then click Continue.
  5. If your order includes multiple subscriptions, tick the box next to each subscription that you want a refund for. Then, click Continue to refund.
  6. Optionally let us know why you are requesting the refund, then click Request a refund.

Your refund request has now been submitted for processing. You will be notified by email when the request has been processed.

For payments made by credit/debit card or PayPal, the refund process can take up to 7 business days. For other payment methods, the refund process can take up to 14 business days.

Settings and Usage

What is Anti-Theft?

Anti-Theft allows you to connect to your lost or stolen Android device, and execute commands remotely from your Avast Account. You cannot control a missing device unless Avast Mobile Security for Android is already installed on the device, and the following requirements are met:

  • The device is turned on and connected to the internet.
  • The Anti-Theft feature is enabled on the device.

What is the Community forum?

Click the Community forum tile on the main Avast Account screen to access the Avast Forum. This channel is monitored by Avast Support agents and is a quick way to ask questions and discuss Avast products with other users.

We cannot guarantee that all questions posted in the Avast Forum will receive a response directly from an Avast Support agent.

What is 2-step verification?

For extra security, you can protect your Avast Account with 2-step verification. When you enable 2-step verification, you need to enter your password and a verification code from the Google Authenticator app each time you sign in. For detailed instructions, refer to the following article:

How can I manage the email addresses that are linked to my Avast Account?

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Account settings tile.
  3. Scroll to the Email management section to view the email addresses that are currently linked to your Avast Account. The email address that you use to sign in to your Avast Account is marked as your Primary email.

The following options are available:

  • Add another email: link an additional email address to your Avast Account. You can add multiple email addresses to your Avast Account, but one email address cannot be linked to more than one account.
  • Set as primary: make this the email address that you need to enter when you sign in to your Avast Account.
  • Delete: remove this email address from your Avast Account along with all of the linked subscriptions and payments. You cannot remove your Primary email.

Troubleshooting

Why do I see the error message 'Authorization Error 400: admin_policy_enforced'?

This error message appears when you try to sign in to your Avast Account using the Continue with Google option while you are signed in to a corporate Google Account managed via Google Apps Device Policy. To resolve this issue, try one of the options below:

  • Return to the Avast Account sign in page. Rather than using the Continue With Google option, manually enter your Avast Account credentials, then click Continue.
  • Return to the Avast Account sign in page and select Continue with Google. From the list of Google Accounts that appears, select a non-corporate Google Account (for example, your personal Google Account). If prompted, enter your Google Account credentials.

You are now signed in to your Avast Account.

To sign in to your Avast Account via Continue with Google, you must choose a Google Account with an email address that is linked to your Avast Account. However, it does not need to be the Primary email address for your Avast Account.

Why is my Avast Account locked?

For added security, we lock your Avast Account if we detect that your password has been leaked online. To unlock your Avast Account, you need to reset your password.
