Uninstalling Avast One

 
If you have a paid Avast One subscription, uninstalling the application does not automatically cancel your subscription. For information about canceling your subscription, refer to the following article: Canceling an Avast subscription - FAQs

Uninstall Avast One

These uninstallation instructions are for the new version of Avast One, made available on 16 September 2025. For information about installing the old Avast One, refer to the Uninstall the old version of Avast One section of this article.

To uninstall Avast One from a Windows device, select the relevant tab below according to your Windows version.

After you complete the steps below, your PC will no longer be protected by Avast One against malware and other threats.

Uninstall via Start menu

To uninstall Avast One, follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click the Windows Start icon, then select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
  2. Ensure that Apps is selected in the left panel, then click ⋮ (three dots) next to Avast One and select Uninstall twice.
  3. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, select Yes.
  4. In the Avast One setup window, click Uninstall.
  5. Click Skip and uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall Avast One. Optionally, choose one of the offered options to provide us with the reason for the uninstallation.
  6. Tick the boxes next to the apps you wish to uninstall or proceed to uninstall everything, then click Continue with selected option.
  7. Click Uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall selected apps.
  8. Wait while the uninstaller removes Avast One from your PC.
  9. When the confirmation message appears, click Restart computer to immediately reboot your PC and complete uninstallation.

Avast One is now uninstalled from your PC.

To uninstall Avast One, follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click the Windows Start icon, then select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
  2. Ensure that Apps & features is selected in the left panel, then select Avast One, and click Uninstall twice.
  3. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  4. In the Avast One setup window, click Uninstall.
  5. Click Skip and uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall Avast One. Optionally, choose one of the offered options to provide us with the reason for the uninstallation.
  6. Tick the boxes next to the apps you wish to uninstall or proceed to uninstall everything, then click Continue with selected option.
  7. Click Uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall selected apps.
  8. Wait while the uninstaller removes Avast One from your PC.
  9. When the confirmation message appears, click Restart computer to immediately reboot your PC and complete uninstallation.

To uninstall Avast One, follow the steps below:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and X key simultaneously.
  2. Select Programs and Features from the menu that appears.
  3. Right-click Avast One, then select Uninstall/Change from the drop-down menu.
  4. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  5. In the Avast One setup window, click Uninstall.
  6. Click Skip and uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall Avast One. Optionally, choose one of the offered options to provide us with the reason for the uninstallation.
  7. Tick the boxes next to the apps you wish to uninstall or proceed to uninstall everything, then click Continue with selected option.
  8. Click Uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall selected apps.
  9. Wait while the uninstaller removes Avast One from your PC.
  10. When the confirmation message appears, click Restart computer to immediately reboot your PC and complete uninstallation.

Avast One is now uninstalled from your PC.

To uninstall Avast One, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Windows Start icon, then select Control Panel from the menu that appears.
  2. Follow option A or option B below according to your view:
    • Option A (Default category view): Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
    • Option B (Large/small icons view): Click Programs and Features.
  3. Right-click Avast One, then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  4. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  5. In the Avast One setup window, click Uninstall.
  6. Click Skip and uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall Avast One. Optionally, choose one of the offered options to provide us with the reason for the uninstallation.
  7. Tick the boxes next to the apps you wish to uninstall or proceed to uninstall everything, then click Continue with selected option.
  8. Click Uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall selected apps.
  9. Wait while the uninstaller removes Avast One from your PC.
  10. When the confirmation message appears, click Restart computer to immediately reboot your PC and complete uninstallation.

Avast One is now uninstalled from your PC.

Uninstall the old version of Avast One

To uninstall the old version of Avast One, follow steps 1-3 above, then refer to the instructions below:

  1. In the Avast One setup window, click Uninstall.
  2. Click Yes to confirm that you want to uninstall Avast One.
  3. Wait while the uninstaller removes Avast One from your PC.
  4. When the confirmation message appears, click Restart computer to immediately reboot your PC and complete uninstallation.

Uninstall via the Avast Uninstall Tool

If you experience issues trying to uninstall Avast One via the Start menu, we recommend using the Avast Uninstall Tool to completely delete all Avast One files from your PC while Windows runs in Safe Mode.

Moving Avast One to the Trash or using Clean My Mac does not fully uninstall the application. We recommend following the steps below using the Avast One Uninstaller.

To uninstall Avast One, follow the GIF or the steps below:

  1. Open Avast One, then click Avast One in the Apple menu bar and select Uninstall Avast One.
  2. When the Avast One Uninstaller window appears, click Continue.
  3. Enter the password that you use when you start your Mac, then click Install helper.
  4. Wait while the uninstaller removes Avast One from your Mac.
  5. If prompted, enter the password that you use when you start your Mac, then click OK.
  6. When the confirmation message appears, click Finish, or optionally click Continue to complete our customer survey.

Avast One is now uninstalled from your Mac.

  1. In your Dock, click the Finder icon.
  2. Select Applications ▸ Avast Security Uninstaller.
    If you do not see Applications in your Finder menu, select Go ▸ Applications in the Apple menu bar at the top of your screen.
  3. When the Avast Security uninstaller window appears, click Continue.
  4. Enter the password that you use when you start your Mac, then click Install Helper.
  5. Wait while the uninstaller removes Avast Security from your Mac.
  6. If prompted, enter the password that you use when you start your Mac, then click OK.
  7. When the confirmation message appears, click Finish, or optionally click Continue to complete the customer survey.

Uninstall via Google Play Store

  1. On the Home screen of your device, tap the Play Store icon to open Google Play Store.
  2. In the search bar, type Avast One, then select Avast One from the search results.
  3. Tap Uninstall, then Uninstall again to confirm uninstallation.

Avast One is now uninstalled from your Android device.

Uninstall via device settings

These steps may differ slightly depending on your device model, Android version, and vendor customizations.
  1. Open your device Settings and go to Apps.
  2. Select Avast One.
  3. Tap Uninstall, then tap OK to confirm uninstallation.

Avast One is now uninstalled from your Android device.

If you uninstall Avast One, any photos you have stored in the Photo Vault will be deleted along with the app and there is no option to restore them. We recommend exporting your files from Photo Vault before uninstalling the app.

Uninstall via Home screen

  1. On the Home screen of your device, touch and hold the Avast One icon, then select Remove App from the menu that appears.
  2. Select Delete App to remove Avast One and all of your app data.
  3. Select Delete to confirm uninstallation.

Avast One is now uninstalled from your iOS device.
