Managing privacy settings in Avast products

When you use most Avast products, you share anonymous data with Avast and other third parties. For more details, refer to the Avast Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of anonymous data sharing at any time. Refer to the relevant section(s) in this article for detailed instructions to manage privacy settings in Avast products.

Avast Antivirus

  1. Open Avast Antivirus and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
  2. Select General ▸ Personal Privacy.
  3. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:
    • Improvements
      • Share threat data with Avast to improve the security of all Avast antivirus users (Community IQ).
      • Help improve this app and our other products by sharing app-usage data with us: share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
    • Offers
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or our other products: receive offers for relevant Avast products and upgrades. In Avast Free Antivirus, this option is enabled by default and does not appear.
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you 3rd party products: receive offers for relevant 3rd party products.
    • Personalization
      • Personalize the communications and product recommendations in this app.

Your Personal Privacy settings are updated. For more details about data collection, refer to the Avast Privacy Policy.

Avast One

  1. Open Avast One and go to Account.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Privacy policy.
  4. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:
    • Help improve Avast One:
      • Share suspicious file samples with Avast One to improve the security of all Avast One Antivirus users (Community IQ).
      • Help improve this app and our other products by sharing app-usage data with us: share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
    • Offers:
      • Share app-usage data with Avast One so we may offer you upgrades or our other products: receive offers for relevant Avast products and upgrades. In Avast One Essential (the free version), this option is enabled by default and does not appear.
      • Share app-usage data with Avast One so we may offer you 3rd party products: receive offers for relevant 3rd party products.
    • Personalization:
      • Personalize the communications and product recommendations in this app.

Avast Cleanup Premium

  1. Open Avast Cleanup Premium and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
  2. Select General ▸ Personal privacy.
  3. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:
    • Improvements
      • Share app-usage data with Avast to help us with new product development: tick to share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
      • Share app-usage data with 3rd-party analytics tools to improve this app: tick to contribute to anonymized analytical data that is used to examine how users interact with Avast Cleanup Premium.
    • Offers
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or our other products: tick to receive offers for relevant Avast products and upgrades.
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you 3rd party products: tick to receive offers for relevant 3rd party products.

Avast Driver Updater

  1. Open Avast Driver Updater and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
  2. Under General, select Personal Privacy.
  3. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:
    • Improvements
      • Share app-usage data with Avast to help us with new product development: tick to share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
      • Share app-usage data with 3rd-party analytics tools to improve this app: tick to contribute to anonymized analytical data that is used to examine how users interact with Avast Driver Updater.
    • Offers
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or our other products: tick to receive offers for relevant Avast products and upgrades.
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you 3rd party products: tick to receive offers for relevant 3rd party products.

Avast Battery Saver

  1. Open Avast Battery Saver and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
  2. Select General ▸ Personal privacy.
  3. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:
    • Improvements
      • Share app-usage data with Avast to help us with new product development: tick to share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
      • Share app-usage data with 3rd-party analytics tools to improve this app: tick to contribute to anonymized analytical data that is used to examine how users interact with Avast Battery Saver.
    • Offers
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or our other products: tick to receive offers for relevant Avast products and upgrades.
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you 3rd party products: tick to receive offers for relevant 3rd party products.

Avast Online Security and Privacy

  1. Click the Avast Online Security and Privacy icon in the top-right of your browser, then click Settings (the gear icon).
  2. Click the slider next to Help us improve by sharing your usage data with us so that it changes gray (OFF) to opt out, or green (ON) to opt in:

Avast Security

  1. Open Avast Security and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Preferences.
  2. Select Privacy.
  3. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:

      • Help improve the security of all our antivirus users by sharing threat data with us.
      • Help improve this app and our other products by sharing app-usage data with us: share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
    • Offers:
      • See possible upgrades and offers for our other products by sharing app-usage data with us. In the free version of Avast Security, this option is enabled by default and does not appear.

Avast SecureLine VPN

  1. Open Avast SecureLine VPN and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Preferences.
  2. Select General.
  3. Untick the box next to Show offers for our other products to opt out, or tick the box to opt in.

Avast Cleanup Premium

  1. Open Avast Cleanup and go to Settings.
  2. Select Privacy.
  3. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:
    • Improvements:
      • Help improve this app and our other products by sharing app-usage data with us.
    • Offers:
      • See possible upgrades and offers for our other products by sharing app-usage data with us.

Avast AntiTrack

  1. Open Avast AntiTrack and go to Settings.
  2. Tick the box next to the following options to opt in, or untick the box to opt out:
    • Enable online sales: Share App Usage data with Avast, so we may offer you upgrades.
    • Enable product development research: Help improve this app and our other products by sharing app-usage data with us.
    • Enable third party products offerings: Share App Usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or our other products.

Avast Online Security and Privacy

  1. Click the Avast Online Security and Privacy icon in the top-right of your browser, then click Settings (the gear icon).
  2. Click the slider next to Help us improve by sharing your usage data with us so that it changes gray (OFF) to opt out, or green (ON) to opt in:

Avast Mobile Security

  1. Open Avast Mobile Security and tap ☰ Menu (three lines) ▸ Settings ▸ Personal Privacy.
  2. Tap the slider next to an option below so that it changes to gray (OFF) to opt out, or orange (ON) to opt in:
    • Improvements:
      • Share threat data with Avast to improve the security of all Avast Antivirus users.
      • Share app-usage data with Avast to help us with new product development: share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
      • Share app-usage data using 3rd-party analytics tools to improve this app: contribute to anonymized analytical data that is used to examine how users interact with Avast Mobile Security.
    • Offers:
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or other products: receive offers for relevant Avast products and upgrades. In the free version of Avast Mobile Security, this option is enabled by default and does not appear.

Avast One

  1. Open Avast One and tap Profile ▸ Settings.
  2. Tap Personal privacy.
  3. Tap the slider next to an option below so that it changes to gray (OFF) to opt out, or blue (ON) to opt in:
    • Improvements:
      • Share threat data with Avast to improve the security of all Avast antivirus users (Community IQ).
      • Share app-usage data with Avast to help us with new product development: share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
      • Collect app-usage data using 3rd-party analytics tools to improve this app: contribute to anonymized analytical data that is used to examine how users interact with Avast One.
    • Offers:
      • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or other products: receive offers for relevant Avast products and upgrades.

Avast SecureLine VPN

  1. Open Avast SecureLine VPN and tap Settings (the gear icon) in the top-right corner.
  2. Under General, select Personal Privacy.
  3. Tap the slider next to Help improve SecureLine VPN so that it changes to gray (OFF) to opt out, or green (ON) to opt in.

Your Personal Privacy settings are updated. For more details about data collection, refer to the Avast Privacy Policy.

Avast Cleanup

  1. Open Avast Cleanup and tap ☰ Menu (three lines) in the top-left corner.
  2. Select Settings ▸ Personal privacy.
  3. Tap the slider next to an option below so that it changes gray (OFF) to opt out, or blue (ON) to opt in:
    • Share app-usage data with Avast to help up us with new product development: share unidentifiable statistical data with Avast for the purpose of developing new products.
    • Share app-usage data using 3rd-party analytics tools to improve this app: contribute to anonymized analytical data that is used to examine how users interact with Avast Cleanup.
    • Share app-usage data with Avast so we may offer you upgrades or other products. In paid versions of Avast Cleanup, this option is disabled by default and does not appear.

Avast Mobile Security

  1. Open Avast Mobile Security and tap Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Data Settings.
  2. Tap the slider next to the preferred setting, so that it changes to white (OFF) to opt out, or green (ON) to opt in.

Your Data Settings setting is updated. For more details about data collection, refer to the Avast Privacy Policy.

Avast SecureLine VPN

  1. Open Avast SecureLine and tap Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Personal Privacy.
  2. Tap the slider next to Help improve SecureLine VPN so that it changes to white (OFF) to opt out, or green (ON) to opt in.

Your Personal Privacy setting is updated. For more details about data collection, refer to the Avast Privacy Policy.
