Preventing your Android device from stopping Avast apps

This article applies to the following Android Avast apps: Avast Mobile Security and Avast Cleanup.

To improve performance, some Android devices force apps to stop when your device screen turns off. This often causes apps to lose the Accessibility permission.

In this case, you need to manually re-enable the permission to maintain full app functionality. To re-enable the Accessibility permission, open your device settings, search for Accessibility, then grant this permission to your Avast Android app.

We recommend changing your device settings to prevent the app from losing the permission. Follow the relevant steps below according to your device:

Asus

  1. Open your device Settings.
  2. Tap Battery, then tap Auto-start Manager.
  3. On the Downloaded tab, set your Avast apps to be allowed to auto-start when the device boots.

Further recommendations

  1. Open your device Mobile Manager, then go to PowerMaster ▸ Settings (or Battery-saving options).
  2. Switch the following options OFF:
    • Clean up in suspend
    • Auto-deny apps from auto starting

Huawei

Follow the below, depending on what matches your device setup and EMUI version:

  1. Open System Manager and tap the cogwheel icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Disable the Smart tune-up feature.
