Is Avast Antivirus still supported on Windows XP and Windows Vista?
As of January 2019, Avast no longer provides support for Avast Free Antivirus and Avast Premium Security (previously Avast Premier, Avast Pro Antivirus, and Avast Internet Security) installed on the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic / Home Premium / Business / Enterprise / Ultimate - Service Pack 2, 32 / 64-bit
- Microsoft Windows XP Home / Professional / Media Center Edition - Service Pack 3, 32-bit
Although you can still download and use Avast Antivirus on these operating systems, you will not receive application updates, and we are unable to provide technical support. Therefore, we strongly advise upgrading to newer versions of Windows and Avast Antivirus to access enhanced features and higher detection rates.

The final Avast Antivirus version that can be used on Windows XP and Windows Vista is version 18.8. Users with Avast Antivirus on Windows XP or Windows Vista remain on version 18.8 and no longer receive application updates.
