Which versions are no longer supported?
Support is discontinued for versions 19.1 and later of the following products: Avast Premium Security (previously Avast Premier), Avast Free Antivirus, Avast Omni, Avast Pro Antivirus, Avast Internet Security that are running on Windows XP or Windows Vista. These versions are supported on PCs running Windows 7 or newer.
Which versions are still supported on XP and Vista?
Versions 18.8 and lower of the following products: Avast Free Antivirus, Avast Pro Antivirus, Avast Internet Security, and Avast Premier are still supported on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
People using older versions of Avast Antivirus on Windows XP or Windows Vista will continue to receive virus definition updates and be protected. However, we recommend upgrading to the newest versions of Windows and Avast Antivirus to benefit from the best detection rates and newest features available.
How can I update the program version?
If you are using an older version of Avast Antivirus on Windows XP or Windows Vista and you want to update the program version, you first need to update your Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system to Windows 7 or newer. To upgrade to Windows 7 or newer and install the latest Avast Antivirus program version:
