What is an Avast Account?
An Avast Account is a portal for managing your paid Avast subscriptions. The following options are available via your Avast Account.
- Subscriptions: Find tools and information to help you manage your Avast subscriptions. Options include download links for all of your purchased products, valid activation codes, and the number of devices where you are currently using the subscription.
- Billing: Check the next billing date for each subscription, and unsubscribe directly via your Avast Account if you do not want to be charged.
Is an Avast Account created automatically for me when I purchase an Avast product?
No. An Avast Account is not automatically created when you purchase an Avast subscription. You can create an Avast Account manually with an email address that is not already linked to a different Avast Account.

What if I don't know the password or email address for my Avast Account?

You can reset your password using the recover password page.

We recommend checking if an email address is already in the Avast Account database:
- Go to the recover password page.
- Enter the email address that you think may be correct, and click Continue.
If you see the message An account with this email doesn't exist - yet, the email address is not registered. You can optionally create a new Avast Account with this email address. Otherwise, try entering a different email address.

Where can I find information about my Avast subscriptions?
To see a list of your Avast subscriptions:
- Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
- Click the Subscriptions tile.
The Subscriptions screen displays your Avast subscriptions.

- Click Unsubscribe under the subscription that you want to cancel.

Why does a subscription not appear in my Avast Account?
When you purchase an Avast subscription via the official Avast website, the subscription automatically appears in your Avast Account if the email address that you provide at checkout is linked to your Avast Account. If you provided a different email address at checkout, you can manually add the missing subscription to your Avast Account.
How can I add a missing subscription to my Avast Account?
You can add a missing Avast subscription to your Avast Account using one of the following methods:
- Via an activated Avast product: If your subscription is already active, you can add the subscription to your Avast Account by signing in to the activated Avast product with your Avast Account credentials. For instructions, refer to the following article:
- Via your Avast Account: If you know which email address you used to purchase the subscription, you can add this email address to your Avast Account. When you add an email address to your Avast Account, all of the Avast subscriptions that you purchased using this email address appear in your Avast Account. What is Anti-Theft?
Anti-Theft allows you to connect to your Android device if it is lost or stolen and execute several commands remotely from your Avast Account. You cannot control a missing device unless Avast Mobile Security for Android is already installed on the device, and the following requirements are met:
- The device is turned on and connected to the internet.
- The Anti-Theft feature is enabled on the device.

What is the Community forum?
Click the Community forum tile on the main Avast Account screen to access the Avast Forum. This channel is monitored by Avast Support agents and provides an easy way to ask questions and discuss Avast products with other users.
How can I change my contact email address?
To update the email address where you receive notification emails (for example, notifications about up-coming payments):
- Sign in to your Avast Account with your current primary email address using the link below:
- Click the Account settings tile.
- Under Email, select Change.
- Enter the new email address and your current Avast Account password, then click Add.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify the new email address.
- When the new email address is verified, return to your Avast Account and click the Account settings tile.
- To set the new email address as your primary email address, click Set as primary.
The new email address is now your primary email address. You need to use this email address to sign in to your Avast Account.
How can I change my Avast Account password?
Follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
- Click the Account settings tile.
- In the Security section, select Change password.
- Type your Current password and your New password, then click Confirm.
Troubleshooting
Why do I see the error message 'Authorization Error 400: admin_policy_enforced'?
This error message appears when you try to sign in to your Avast Account using the Continue With Google option while you are signed in to a corporate Google Account managed via Google Apps Device Policy. To resolve this issue, try one of the options below:
- Return to the Avast Account login page. Rather than using the Continue With Google option, manually enter your Avast Account credentials, then click Continue.
- Return to the Avast Account login page and select Continue With Google. From the list of Google Accounts that appears, select a non-corporate Google Account (for example, your personal Google Account). If prompted, enter your Google Account credentials.
You are now signed in to your Avast Account.
