Locating your Avast activation code

After installing or upgrading to a paid Avast product, you may need to activate your subscription by entering a valid activation code (sometimes called a subscription code or license key) into the application.

Follow the instructions in this article to find your activation code in one of the following places:

  • Order confirmation email: Purchases made online from the official Avast website receive an order confirmation email that contains your activation code.
  • Avast Account: Purchases made online from the official Avast website appear in the Avast Account that is linked to the email address you provided at checkout.
  • An already activated Avast product: When an Avast product is already activated, your activation code is usually visible within the product. This is useful if your subscription is valid for multiple devices and you want to enter your activation code on a new device.
  • Activation card: Purchases made in a retail store or from a third-party reseller (such as Staples or Amazon) come in an Avast box or plastic case that contains a printed card with your activation code.

Order confirmation email

To find your activation code in an order confirmation email:

  1. Open the order confirmation email that you received from no.reply@avast.com (or in some cases, info@customer.avast.com).
  2. Scroll to the Your products section. The activation code is visible under Your activation code.

Avast Account

Your Avast Account login is the email address that you provided during the subscription purchase.
  • To sign into your Avast Account for the first time, refer to the following article: Activating your Avast Account.
  • If you do not know the password for your Avast Account, you can reset it.

To find your activation code in your Avast Account:

  1. Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Subscriptions tile.
  3. The activation code for each subscription is visible next to Activation code.
If you do not see an Avast subscription, it is not yet linked to your Avast Account. You can optionally follow the instructions to add a missing subscription to your Avast Account.

An Avast product

This option is not yet available for all Avast products. If your product is not listed below, you can locate your activation code in one of the other locations described in this article.

To find your activation code, follow the relevant instructions below according to your device and product:

Most Avast products for PC:

  • Go to ☰ Menu ▸ My Subscriptions ▸ Subscriptions on this PC. Click the down arrow next to your subscription. Your activation code is visible next to Subscription.

Avast AntiTrack Premium:

  • Go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings ▸ Your subscription status. Your activation code is visible next to Activation code.

Avast SecureLine VPN:

  • Go to ☰ Menu ▸ Subscription. Your activation code is visible next to Activation code.

Avast AntiTrack:

  • Go to Settings ▸ Activation keys. Your activation code is visible under License key.

Avast Mobile Security Premium:

  • Go to ☰ Menu ▸ My Subscriptions. Your activation code is visible under your subscription name.

Avast Cleanup Premium:

  • Go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings ▸ Subscription. Your activation code is visible under Activation Code.

Avast SecureLine VPN:

  • Go to Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Subscription. Your activation code is visible under Activation code.
If you purchased your subscription via Google Play Store, you may not see an activation code. This is because you do not need an activation code to activate purchases made via Google Play Store. For more information, refer to the following article:

Avast Mobile Security Premium and Avast SecureLine VPN:

  • Go to Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Subscription. Your activation code is visible under Activation code.
If you purchased your subscription via the App Store, you may not see an activation code. This is because you do not need an activation code to activate purchases made via the App Store. For more information, refer to the following article:

Activation card

If you have an Avast box or plastic case containing an activation card, your activation code is printed on the instructions side of the card.
