Transferring an Avast subscription to another device

The information in this article does not apply to Avast apps purchased via Google Play Store or the App Store. To learn how to transfer a subscription purchased via one of these vendors, refer to the following article:

This article explains how to transfer an Avast product subscription from one device to another. Refer to the relevant section below according to your Avast product.

Avast One

Before transferring your Avast One subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast One (Family): You can activate your subscription on up to 30 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast One (Individual): You can activate your subscription on up to 5 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.

To transfer your Avast One subscription to another device:

  1. Uninstall Avast One from your original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  3. Activate your Avast One subscription on the new device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Your Avast One subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast Premium Security

Before transferring your Avast Premium Security subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Premium Security (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms. This subscription option includes Avast Premium Security for PC and Mac, as well as Avast Mobile Security Premium for Android and iOS.
  • Avast Premium Security for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast Premium Security subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.
  • Avast Premium Security for Mac: You can activate your subscription on 1 Mac. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Mac, but you cannot use your Avast Premium Security subscription on more than one Mac simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast Premium Security subscription to another device, refer to the relevant section below according to the original device:

  1. Uninstall Avast Premium Security from your original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  2. Uninstall Avast Mobile Security Premium from your original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  3. Deactivate your subscription on the original device. Follow these steps:
    • Open Avast Mobile Security and go to ☰ Menu (three lines) ▸ My subscription.
    • Tap ⋮ More options (three dots) next to your subscription, and select Remove.
  4. Optionally uninstall Avast Mobile Security from the original device. Alternatively, you can continue to use the free version of the app.
  5. Install your chosen product on the new device. For instructions, refer to the relevant article below:
  6. Activate your chosen product on the new device. For instructions, refer to the relevant article below:

Your Avast Premium Security subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast Ultimate

Before transferring your Avast Ultimate subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Ultimate (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast Ultimate for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast Ultimate subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.
  • Avast Ultimate for Mac: You can activate your subscription on 1 Mac. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Mac, but you cannot use your Avast Ultimate subscription on more than one Mac simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast Ultimate subscription to another device, refer to the relevant section below according to the original device:

  1. If Avast SecureLine VPN is activated on your original device, you need to deactivate your subscription in this application. Follow the steps below:
    • Open Avast SecureLine VPN and go to ☰ Menu ▸ My subscriptions.
    • Click the down arrow next to your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription, then select Deactivate this subscription.
    You can then optionally uninstall Avast SecureLine VPN from your original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  2. If Avast SecureLine VPN is activated on your original device, you need to deactivate your subscription in this application. Follow the steps below:
    • Open Avast SecureLine VPN and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Subscription.
    • Click Deactivate this device next to your subscription.
    You can then optionally uninstall Avast SecureLine VPN from your original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  3. On the original device, you need to deactivate your subscription in the products listed below:
    • Avast Mobile Security Premium: Go to ☰ Menu (three lines) ▸ My subscription. Tap ⋮ More options (three dots) next to your subscription, and select Remove.
    • Avast Cleanup Premium: Go to ☰ Menu (three lines) ▸ My subscription. Tap Unlink next to your subscription.
    • Avast SecureLine VPN: Go to Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Subscription. Tap Remove device from my subscription.
    You can then choose to either uninstall the apps listed above, or continue to use the free version of these apps on your original device. For uninstallation instructions, refer to the following articles:
  4. If Avast SecureLine VPN is activated on your original device, you need to deactivate your subscription in this app. Follow the steps below:
    • Open Avast SecureLine VPN and go to Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Subscription.
    • Tap Remove device from my subscription.
    You can then optionally uninstall Avast SecureLine VPN from your original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  5. Uninstall the remaining products that are connected to your Avast Ultimate subscription from the original device. For instructions, refer to the following articles:
  6. If Avast AntiTrack is activated on your original device, you need to uninstall this app. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  7. If Avast Mobile Security Premium is activated on your original device, you need to uninstall this app. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  8. Install and activate your chosen Avast Ultimate products on the new device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Your Avast Ultimate subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast Cleanup Premium

Before transferring your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Cleanup Premium (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast Cleanup Premium for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.
  • Avast Cleanup Premium for Mac: You can activate your subscription on 1 Mac. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Mac, but you cannot use your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription on more than one Mac simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription to another device, refer to the relevant section below according to the original device:

  1. Uninstall Avast Cleanup Premium from the original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  2. Deactivate your subscription on the original device. Follow the steps below:
    • Open Avast Cleanup and go to ☰ Menu (three lines) ▸ My subscription.
    • Tap Unlink next to your subscription.
  3. Optionally uninstall Avast Cleanup from the original device. Alternatively, you can continue to use the free version of the app.
  4. Install your chosen product on the new device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast SecureLine VPN

Before transferring your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast SecureLine VPN (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
    New Avast SecureLine VPN (Multi-Device) subscriptions purchased from the start of April 2021 are valid for 10 devices. If you purchased your Avast SecureLine VPN (Multi-Device) subscription before April 2021, it is valid for 5 devices during the current subscription period. When your subscription renews, it will upgrade to 10 devices.
  • Avast SecureLine VPN for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.
  • Avast SecureLine VPN for Mac: You can activate your subscription on 1 Mac. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Mac, but you cannot use your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription on more than one Mac simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription to another device, refer to the relevant section below according to the original device:

  1. Deactivate your subscription on the original device. Follow the instructions below:
    • Open Avast SecureLine VPN and go to ☰ Menu ▸ My subscriptions.
    • Click the down arrow next to your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription, then select Deactivate this subscription
    • Open Avast SecureLine VPN and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Subscription.
    • Click Deactivate this device next to your subscription.
    • Open Avast SecureLine VPN and go to Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Subscription.
    • Tap Remove device from my subscription.
  2. Optionally uninstall Avast SecureLine VPN from the original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  3. Install Avast SecureLine VPN on the new device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
  4. Activate your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription on the new device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast AntiTrack

Before transferring your Avast AntiTrack subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast AntiTrack (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast AntiTrack for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast AntiTrack subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.
  • Avast AntiTrack for Mac: You can activate your subscription on 1 Mac. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Mac, but you cannot use your Avast AntiTrack subscription on more than one Mac simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast AntiTrack subscription to another device:

  1. Uninstall Avast AntiTrack from the original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Avast Driver Updater

Before transferring your Avast Driver Updater subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Driver Updater for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast Driver Updater subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast Driver Updater subscription to another device:

  1. Uninstall Avast Driver Updater from the original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  3. Activate your Avast Driver Updater subscription on the new device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Your Avast Driver Updater subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast BreachGuard

Before transferring your Avast BreachGuard subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast BreachGuard (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast BreachGuard for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast BreachGuard subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.
  • Avast BreachGuard for Mac: You can activate your subscription on 1 Mac. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Mac, but you cannot use your Avast BreachGuard subscription on more than one Mac simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast BreachGuard subscription to another device, refer to the relevant section below according to your original device:

  1. Sign out of Avast BreachGuard on the original device. Follow the steps below:
    • Open Avast BreachGuard and click ☰ Menu in the top-right corner.
    • Click Sign out of Avast BreachGuard.
    • Open Avast BreachGuard and click ☰ Menu in the top-right corner.
    • Click Sign out.
  2. Optionally uninstall Avast BreachGuard from the original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Avast Battery Saver

Before transferring your Avast Battery Saver subscription, check the conditions for the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Battery Saver for PC: You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows PC. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative Windows PC, but you cannot use your Avast Battery Saver subscription on more than one PC simultaneously.

To transfer your Avast Battery Saver subscription to another device:

  1. Uninstall Avast Battery Saver from the original device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
