Activating a paid version of Avast Mobile Security on Android

Avast Mobile Security is available as both a free and paid product. The paid product, Avast Mobile Security Premium, requires a subscription to unlock all features. This article expains how to activate a subscription using an activation code and how to restore a subscription from the App Store if you change or reset your Android device.

Avast Mobile Security Premium subscriptions purchased via Google Play Store are activated automatically on the device used to make the purchase. You do not need to manually activate the app after purchase.

After installing Avast Mobile Security on your device, follow the instructions below to activate your subscription using a valid activation code or restore your subscription from Google Play Store. For informatoin about where to find you activation code, refere to the following article:

Activate subscription

To activate an Avast Mobile Security subscription using an activation code:

  1. Tap the Avast Mobile Security icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  2. Tap Menu (three lines) ▸ My Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Already Purchased?.
  4. Select Redeem an activation code.
  5. Type or paste your activation code into the text box, including hyphens, then tap Use This Code.

Your Avast Mobile Security subscription is now active.

This option only applies if you purchased your Avast Mobile Security subscription via Google Play Store and have changed or reset your Android device.

To restore an Avast Mobile Security subscription via Google Play Store:

  1. Ensure you are logged into Google Play Store with the same Google Account that you used to purchase Avast Mobile Security.
  2. Tap the Avast Mobile Security icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  3. Tap Menu (three lines) ▸ My Subscriptions.
  4. Tap Already Purchased?.
  5. Select Restore from Google Play.

The app automatically retrieves and activates your Avast Mobile Security subscription from Google Play Store.

Your Avast Mobile Security subscription is now active.

If you have a new activation code and want to change from your current subscription to a new subscription, or transfer your subscription to a different device, use this option to unlink your subscription and then reactivate Avast Mobile Security.

To unlink your 'old' subscription:

  1. Tap the Avast Mobile Security icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  2. Tap Menu (three lines) ▸ My Subscriptions.
  3. Write down your 'old' activation code if you want to transfer it to a different device.
  4. Tap (three dots) next to your 'old' subscription, then select Remove.
  5. Tap Remove.
 

To activate your 'new' subscription:

  1. Tap Menu (three lines) ▸ My Subscriptions.
  2. Tap Already Purchased?.
  3. Select Redeem an activation code.
  4. Type or paste your 'new' activation code into the text box, including hyphens, then tap Use This Code.

Your Avast Mobile Security subscription is active.

Troubleshoot activation issues

If you experience any activation issues:

  1. Ensure you have correctly entered your activation code, including hyphens.
  2. In some cases, subscription synchronization may take up to 24 hours after purchase. If your subscription is still not active after this time, refer to the following article:
