Avast Antivirus compatibility with Windows 10 system updates

As of November 2019, Avast Antivirus program versions 19.5 or lower are no longer compatible with the Windows 10 19H1 update from May 2019. Before your PC can update to this Windows 10 version, a setup dialog displays the applications that need your attention first. If Avast Antivirus appears in this dialog, refer to the instructions below to get the latest version of Avast Antivirus before updating your Windows 10.


To update your Windows version, you first need to either update your current Avast Antivirus program or reinstall your preferred Avast Antivirus program:

A. To update

B. To reinstall

You are now able to update your Windows 10 to the 19H1 version.

  • Avast Premium Security 19.5 and lower
  • Avast Premier 19.5 and lower
  • Avast Internet Security 19.5 and lower
  • Avast Free Antivirus 19.5 and lower
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home / Pro / Enterprise / Education - 32 / 64-bit (19H1 update and higher)
