Activating Avast One

Before following the activation steps in this article, ensure the latest version of Avast One is installed on your device. For instructions, refer to the following article: Installing Avast One.

To activate the premium features in Avast One, you need to sign in to the application with an Avast Account that contains a valid Avast One subscription. The instructions in this article explain how to sign in to Avast One with an Avast Account.

The Avast One Silver and Avast One Gold subscription types are now available on Windows PC via the in-app offer in the free version of Avast One. For more details about these plans, refer to the following article: Avast One Silver and Gold - FAQs.

Activate via Avast Account

An Avast Account was created using the email address that you provided during the subscription purchase. To sign into your Avast Account for the first time, refer to the following article: Activating your Avast Account.
  1. Open Avast One and click Account in the left panel on the main Avast One screen.
  2. Select Sign in. Your default web browser opens.
  3. Follow the relevant step below (option A or option B) in your browser:
    • Option A: Check that the listed Avast Account is the one that contains your Avast One subscription, then click Yes, continue. Alternatively, click Sign in as someone else.
    • Option B: Enter the credentials for the Avast Account that contains your Avast One subscription, then click Continue.
  4. When prompted by your browser, follow the on-screen instructions to re-open Avast One.

Avast One is now active. If activation is unsuccessful, refer to the Activate via sign-in key section below.

To see the auto-renewal date of your subscription (or the expiry date, if auto-renewal is canceled), click the Account in the left panel or go to your Avast Account. You can activate Avast One on the number of devices you specified when making the purchase.

Activate via sign-in key

If activation via Avast Account fails, you can activate Avast One using the sign-in key from your web browser. To use this alternative activation method, follow the steps below:

  1. Open Avast One and click Account in the left panel on the main Avast One screen.
  2. Select Sign in. Your default web browser opens.
  3. Follow the relevant step below (option A or option B) in your default web browser:
    • Option A: Check that the listed Avast Account is the one that contains your Avast One subscription, then click Yes, continue. Alternatively, click Sign in as someone else.
    • Option B: Enter the credentials for the Avast Account that contains your Avast One subscription, then click Continue.
  4. Click Get a sign-in key instead.
  5. Click Copy to clipboard.
  6. Go to Avast One, and click enter the sign-in key from your browser.
  7. Click in the text box, then press the Ctrl key and the V key on your keyboard simultaneously to paste the sign-in key. Then, click Continue.

Avast One is now active. If activation is unsuccessful, refer to the Still need help? section below.

To see the auto-renewal date of your subscription (or the expiry date, if auto-renewal is canceled), click the Account in the left panel or go to your Avast Account. You can activate Avast One on the number of devices you specified when making the purchase.

Activate via sign-in key

If activation via Avast Account fails, you can activate Avast One using the sign-in key from your web browser. To use this alternative activation method, follow the steps below:

  1. Open Avast One and click Account in the left panel on the main Avast One screen.
  2. Select Sign in. Your default web browser opens.
  3. Follow the relevant step below (option A or option B) in your default web browser:
    • Option A: Check that the listed Avast Account is the one that contains your Avast One subscription, then click Yes, continue. Alternatively, click Sign in as someone else.
    • Option B: Enter the credentials for the Avast Account that contains your Avast One subscription, then click Continue.
  4. Click Get a sign-in key instead.
  5. Click Copy to clipboard.
  6. Go to Avast One, and click enter the sign-in key from your browser.
  7. Type or paste your sign-in key into the text box, then click Continue.

Avast One is now active. If activation is unsuccessful, refer to the Still need help? section below.

Restore via Google Play

Avast One subscriptions purchased via Google Play Store are activated automatically on the Android device you used to make the purchase. Follow the instructions below if you want to change or reset your device, or if automatic activation via Google Play Store is unsuccessful.

To restore your Avast One subscription via Google Play Store:

  1. Ensure you are signed in to Google Play Store with the same Google Account that you used to purchase Avast One. For instructions on how to verify this, refer to the following article:

  2. Tap the Avast One icon on your device. The app opens.
  3. Tap Account, then tap your subscription.
  4. Tap Restore from Google Play.

The app automatically retrieves and activates your Avast One subscription from Google Play Store.

Restore via the App Store

Avast One subscriptions purchased via the App Store are activated automatically on the iOS device you used to make the purchase. Follow the instructions below if you want to change or reset your device, or if automatic activation via the App Store is unsuccessful.

To restore your Avast One subscription via the App Store:

  1. Ensure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that you used to purchase Avast One. For instructions on how to verify this, refer to the following article:

  2. Tap the Avast One icon on your device. The app opens.
  3. Tap Account, then tap your subscription.
  4. Select Restore from App Store.

The app automatically retrieves and activates Avast One from the App Store.

  • Ensure that your Avast One subscription appears in your Avast Account. To verify this, sign in to your Avast Account in your web browser and click the Subscriptions tile to see a list of the linked subscriptions.
  • If your Avast One subscription does not appear in your Avast Account, you can manually add the subscription. For instructions, refer to the following article:
