Avast Cleanup for Android is a mobile app designed to help you improve the performance of your device and preserve storage space by removing unnecessary media, files, apps, and app data. Remove these items by transferring them to cloud storage and/or deleting them from your device. You can also optimize your photos, so they consume less space.
Avast Cleanup is available as both a free and paid product. The paid version requires a subscription to use. This article contains instructions to install the app and optionally activate an existing subscription, or purchase Avast Cleanup Premium.
Install Avast Cleanup
- Click the button below to download the Avast Cleanup Premium setup file, and save it to a familiar location on your PC (by default, downloaded files are saved to your Downloads folder).
Download Avast Cleanup Premium for Windows - Right-click the downloaded setup file
avast_cleanup_setup.exeand select Run as administrator from the context menu.
- If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
If you are unable to authorize installation of Avast Cleanup Premium, refer to the following article for advice:
- When Avast Cleanup Premium opens, review the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy, then click Install now.
- Wait while setup installs Avast Cleanup Premium on your PC.
- Avast Cleanup Premium is now installed on your PC. To use all features, choose one of the options below:
- Activate: If you purchased Avast Cleanup Premium before installation, activate your paid subscription. For detailed activation instructions, refer to the following article:
- Purchase: Click Extend subscription, then follow the on-screen instructions to purchase a subscription for Avast Cleanup Premium.
- Click the button below to download the Avast Cleanup Premium setup file, and save it to a familiar location on your Mac (by default, downloaded files are saved to your Downloads folder).
Download Avast Cleanup Premium for Mac - Double-click the downloaded setup file
avastcleanup.dmg. - Double-click the Avast Cleanup Premium icon.
- Click Continue.
- Click Continue to confirm that you have read the Avast End User License Agreement, then click Agree to confirm that you accept the terms.
- Click Install to proceed with default installation, or click Change Install Location... if you want to make changes to the default setup.
- If prompted, use your Touch ID to grant permission for the installation, or click Use Password..., then enter your Administrator password and click Install Software.
- Wait while setup installs Avast Cleanup Premium on your Mac, then click Close.
- Click Move to Trash to remove the installer.
- If prompted, click OK to grant permission for the installer to access your downloads folder and move the setup file to the trash.
- Avast Cleanup Premium is now installed on your Mac and can be used in scan-only mode. To unlock all features, choose one of the options below:
- Activate: If you purchased Avast Cleanup Premium before installation, click Insert activation code to activate your paid subscription. For detailed activation instructions, refer to the following article:
- Purchase: Click See subscriptions, then follow the on-screen instructions to purchase a subscription for Avast Cleanup Premium.
- Activate: If you purchased Avast Cleanup Premium before installation, click Insert activation code to activate your paid subscription. For detailed activation instructions, refer to the following article:
- On your Android device, tap the button below to open the Avast Cleanup for Android product page in Google Play Store. Go to Google Play Store
- Tap Install to download and install the app. When installation is complete, tap Open to open Avast Cleanup.
- Tap Get started.
- Select one of the options below:
- Continue with ads: Use the free version of the app.
- Upgrade now: Select your preferred plan and follow the on-screen instructions to purchase Avast Cleanup.
- Already purchased?: Activate your paid subscription if you already purchased Avast Cleanup before installation. For detailed activation instructions, refer to the following article:
Troubleshooting
If you experience any installation issues:
- Ensure your PC meets the minimum system requirements and your Windows is up to date.
- Windows 11 except Mixed Reality and IoT Edition; Windows 10 except Mobile and IoT Edition (32 or 64-bit); Windows 8/8.1 except RT and Starter Edition (32 or 64-bit); Windows 7 SP1 or higher, any Edition (32 or 64-bit)
- Windows fully compatible PC with Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 processor or above (must support SSE3 instructions)
- 1 GB RAM or above
- 1 GB free space on the hard disk
- Internet connection to download, activate, and maintain application updates
- Optimal standard screen resolution no less than 1024 x 768 pixels
- Check that the downloaded setup file is not corrupted. For instructions, refer to the following article:
- Restart your PC, and try again to install Avast Cleanup Premium by following the instructions in this article.
If you experience any installation issues:
- Ensure your Mac meets the minimum system requirements and your operating system is up to date.
- Apple macOS 12.x (Monterey), Apple macOS 11.x (Big Sur), Apple macOS 10.15.x (Catalina), Apple macOS 10.14.x (Mojave), Apple macOS 10.13.x (High Sierra), Apple macOS 10.12.x (Sierra), Apple Mac OS X 10.11.x (El Capitan)
- Intel based Mac with 64-bit processor
- 512 MB RAM or above (1 GB RAM or higher preferred)
- 68 MB minimum hard disk free space
- Internet connection to download, activate, and maintain application updates
- Optimal standard screen resolution no less than 1024 x 768 pixels
- Restart your Mac and try to install Avast Cleanup Premium again by following the instructions in this article.
If you experience any installation issues:
- Ensure your Android device meets the minimum system requirements and your operating system is up to date.
- Google Android 6.0 (Marshmallow, API 23) or later
- Internet connection to download, activate, and maintain app updates
- Restart your device and try to install Avast Cleanup again by following the instructions in this article.
