Uninstalling Avast Passwords

 
The support for Avast Passwords is ending across all platforms, including Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. Users are encouraged to migrate to the new Avast Password Manager standalone browser extension and the new mobile application. Uninstall Avast Passwords

If you have a paid Avast Passwords subscription, uninstalling the application does not automatically cancel your subscription. For information about canceling your subscription, refer to the following article:

You can uninstall Avast Passwords via Avast Free Antivirus or Avast Premium Security.

Uninstall via Avast Antivirus

  1. Open your version of Avast Antivirus and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
  2. Select General ▸ Troubleshooting ▸ Add / modify components.
  3. Untick the box next to Passwords (old), then click Change.
  4. Click Yes to authorize the change.
  5. When the confirmation message appears, click Done, or if prompted, click Restart computer to immediately reboot your PC and complete uninstallation.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your PC.

Moving Avast Passwords to the Trash or using Clean My Mac does not fully uninstall the application. We recommend following the steps below using the Avast Passwords uninstaller.

Uninstall via Apple menu

  1. Open Avast Passwords, then click Help in the Apple menu bar and select Uninstall....
  2. When the Avast Passwords uninstaller window appears, click Yes.
    Ticking Also remove my passwords and associated data results in the permanent loss of data if Avast Passwords is not synchronized with another device.
  3. Enter the password that you use when you start your Mac, then click OK.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your Mac.

These steps may differ slightly depending on your device model, Android version, and vendor customizations.

Uninstall via device settings

  1. Open your device Settings and go to Apps.
  2. Select Avast Passwords.
  3. Tap Uninstall.
  4. Tap OK to confirm uninstallation.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your Android device.

To uninstall Avast Passwords from iOS, select the relevant tab below according to your iOS version:

Uninstall via Home screen

  1. On the Home screen of your device, touch and hold the Passwords icon, then select Remove App from the menu that appears.
  2. Select Delete App to remove Avast Passwords and all of your app data.
  3. Select Delete to confirm uninstallation.
  1. On the Home Screen of your device, touch and hold the Passwords icon until it starts to wiggle.
  2. Tap the small x that appears in the top-left corner of the icon.
  3. Select Delete to confirm uninstallation.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your iOS device.
