An Avast Account is a portal for managing your Avast subscriptions. This article explains how to restore your subscription, change your email address linked with your subscriptions, or merge your subscriptions into one Avast Account.
Restore your subscription
If you want to restore a subscription that is not connected to an existing account, follow the steps below:
- Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
- Select My subscriptions.
- Click the Restore subscription button.
- Enter the email you provided to when you purchased the subscription, then click Continue.
All future communications will be sent to your primary email address. Your subscription and order history will be transferred to your primary Avast Account and can be found under My subscriptions.
If you see the error message Try again, no subscription is connected with that email address. - On the Ready to restore your subscription(s) screen, click Continue.
Alternatively, if you see a different screen, follow the relevant steps:- Is your secondary email address: Refer to the manage secondary emails section of this article.
- Please contact customer support: Refer to the merge your Avast Account subscriptions section of this article.
- Go to your inbox and open the email from Avast with your one-time passcode.
- On the Enter your one-time passcode screen, enter the code from your email and click Verify.
- Click Close.
Your subscription is now transferred to your Avast Account with your primary email address. You can sign in to your Avast Account with your primary or your secondary email address.
Change your email address
To change the primary or secondary email addresses connected to your Avast Account, refer to the relevant section below:
Update primary email
To update your primary email address, follow the steps below:
- Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
- Go to Account settings ▸ Email and password.
- Next to your Primary email address, click the pencil icon.
- Type the new email address in the New Email and Confirm New Email boxes, then click Continue.
- Review the details and click Continue. You will receive an email with the verification code to finish updating your email address.
- Check your email and enter the 6-digit verification code, then click Done.
Manage secondary emails
To set a secondary as your primary email or remove a secondary email, follow the relevant steps below:
- Sign in to your Avast Account using the link below:
- Go to Account settings ▸ Email and password.
- Next to the relevant Secondary email address, select your preferred option:
- Set as primary: Click to change to your primary email address, your previously linked primary email will be a secondary email.
- Remove: Click to remove or disconnect an email address, then select the relevant option:
- Remove email: All your subscriptions connected to the secondary email will be transferred to the primary.
- Disconnect email: Any subscriptions associated with this email will no longer be listed in your account. You can restore them via My subscriptions via your Avast Account.

Merge your Avast Account subscriptions
If you have an existing Avast Account and want to merge it with another Avast Account, you need to contact Avast Support to merge your accounts.
- Click Contact Support to start the process to merge your accounts.
- Complete the form with the required information, then click Submit request.
- Avast support agents will verify the issue and contact you if more details are needed. Then you will receive an email to confirm the change.
- Go to your inbox and open the email from no_reply@avast.com with the subject: Avast Email change.
- Click Confirm new email to verify your email.
When the process is completed, you will receive a confirmation email.
