Resetting Avast Passwords to defaults

Avast Passwords protects your passwords and sensitive data with a single Master Password you create. If you forget your Master Password, no one can access or recover the data stored in Passwords nor reset the Master Password.

Resetting Passwords irreversibly deletes all your stored data and allows you to start over.

Reset Avast Passwords

  1. Open the Avast user interface and select PrivacyPasswords.
  2. When prompted to enter your Master Password, click Settings in the top-right corner of the Passwords screen.
  3. Click Reset Avast Passwords and delete my data on the Avast Passwords settings screen.
  4. Click Delete to confirm and return to the Passwords screen.
  5. Click Get Started to start over.

  1. Go to FinderApplications on your Mac, then double-click the Avast Passwords.app icon to open the application.
  2. When prompted to enter your Master Password, click the Avast Passwords in the menu bar and select Remove vault.
  3. Click Remove in the confirmation dialog that appears.
  4. Enter your Mac's account password and click OK.
  5. Click Start now! to start over.

  1. Tap the Avast Passwords icon to open the app.
  2. When prompted to enter your Master Password, tap the menu icon (three dots) in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Forgot password? .
  3. Select Delete Vault on the next screen.

  5. Click Start now! to start over.

Remove Avast Passwords from your iOS device:

  1. Press and hold the Avast Passwords icon on the main screen of your device for a while.
  2. Tap the small x which appears in the upper-left corner of the icon.
  3. Select Delete to confirm that you want to remove the app from your device.

Install Avast Passwords on your iOS device:

  1. Open App Store from the apps screen of your iOS device and search for Avast Passwords.
  2. Open Avast Passwords from the search results.
  3. Tap the cloud icon.
  4. If asked for permissions, select Accept.
  5. Once the installation is complete, tap Open to start over.
