The Avast Setup wizard allows you to modify Avast Antivirus by installing or uninstalling individual components.
Access the Avast Setup wizard
- Right-click the Windows
Start button and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears. - Ensure Apps & features is selected, then click the vertical ellipsis (⋮), and select Modify.
- Right-click the Windows Start button and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
- Ensure Apps & features is selected in the left panel, then click your version of Avast Antivirus, and select Modify.
- Press the
Xkey on your keyboard simultaneously, then select Programs and Features from the menu that appears. - Right-click your version of Avast Antivirus, then select Change from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
- Follow the relevant instruction according to your view setup:
- Default category view: Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
- Large/small icons view: Click Programs and Features.
- Default category view: Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
- Right-click your version of Avast Antivirus, then select Change from the drop-down menu.
- If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
- When the Avast Setup wizard appears, the following options are available:
- Change the default location where your modified version of Avast Antivirus will be installed.
- Manually select or deselect components.
- Click Change to confirm.
- Click Yes to authorize the change.
- Click Done.
