Restoring or reactivating Avast mobile subscriptions

 
This article contains information about managing your Avast mobile subscriptions after initial activation. For instructions to activate your Avast mobile subscription for the first time, refer to the relevant article below according to your product:
  • Avast Mobile Security Premium | Avast Cleanup Premium | Avast SecureLine VPN

This article explains how to restore an Avast subscription via Google Play Store or the App Store if you purchased your Avast subscription from either of these vendors. This is useful if you are reinstalling your Avast app, or if you replace or reset your Android or iOS device.

Alternatively, this article also explains how to unlink your subscription from an Android or iOS device, then reactivate your subscription on a new device using your activation code. This option is useful if you want to transfer your subscription from one device to another.

The following options are available for Android:

Avast Mobile Security Premium

Avast Mobile Security Premium

Restore via Google Play

This option only applies if you purchased your subscription via Google Play Store.
  1. Install Avast Mobile Security on your Android device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
    • Installing Avast Mobile Security
  2. Ensure you are signed in to Google Play Store with the same Google Account that you used to purchase Avast Mobile Security Premium. For instructions on how to verify this, refer to the following article:
    • Google Play Store Help ▸ Add & use accounts on your device
  3. Tap the Avast Mobile Security icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  4. Tap Upgrade.
  5. Tap the ⋮ icon (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  6. Select Restore from Google Play.

The app automatically retrieves and activates your Avast Mobile Security Premium subscription from Google Play Store.

 

Unlink and reactivate

Follow the steps below to unlink your Avast Mobile Security Premium subscription from your Android device, then reactivate the subscription on another Android device using your activation code.

Unlink the active subscription from the original device:

  1. Tap the Avast Mobile Security icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  2. Tap ☰ Menu (three lines) ▸ My subscriptions.
  3. Write down your activation code.
  4. Tap the ⋮ icon (three dots) next to your subscription, then select Remove.
  5. Tap Remove to confirm.

Your subscription is unlinked. Follow the steps in the section below to reactivate your subscription on the new device.

 

Reactivate your subscription on the new device:

  1. Install Avast Mobile Security on the new Android device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  2. Tap the Avast Mobile Security icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  3. Tap Upgrade.
  4. Tap the ⋮ icon (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  5. Select Redeem an activation code.
  6. Type or paste your activation code (including hyphens) into the text box, then tap Use this code.

Your Avast Mobile Security Premium subscription is now active.

Avast Cleanup Premium

Restore via Google Play

This option only applies if you purchased your subscription via Google Play Store.
  1. Install Avast Cleanup on your Android device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
    • Installing Avast Cleanup
  2. Ensure you are signed in to Google Play Store with the same Google Account that you used to purchase Avast Cleanup Premium. For instructions on how to verify this, refer to the following article:
    • Google Play Store Help ▸ Add & use accounts on your device
  3. Tap the Avast Cleanup icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  4. Tap Upgrade.
  5. Tap the ⋮ Options (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  6. Select Restore from Google Play.

The app automatically retrieves and activates your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription from Google Play Store.

 

Unlink and reactivate

Follow the steps below to unlink your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription from your Android device, then reactivate the subscription on another Android device using your activation code.

Unlink the active subscription from the original device:

  1. Tap the Avast Cleanup icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  2. Tap ☰ Menu (three lines) ▸ My subscription.
  3. Write down your activation code.
  4. Tap Unlink, then tap Unlink again to confirm.

Your subscription is unlinked. Follow the steps in the section below to reactivate your subscription on the new device.

 

Reactivate your subscription on the new device:

  1. Install Avast Cleanup on the new Android device. For instructions, refer to the following article:
    • Installing Avast Cleanup
  2. Tap the Avast Cleanup icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  3. Tap Upgrade.
  4. Tap the ⋮ Options (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  5. Select Use an activation code.
  6. Type or paste your activation code (including hyphens) into the text box, then tap Use this code.

Your Avast Cleanup Premium subscription is now active.

Avast SecureLine VPN

Restore via Google Play

This option only applies if you purchased your subscription via Google Play Store.
  1. Install Avast SecureLine VPN on your Android device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  2. Ensure you are signed in to Google Play Store with the same Google Account that you used to purchase Avast SecureLine VPN. For instructions on how to verify this, refer to the following article:

  3. Tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  4. Tap the ⋮ icon (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  5. Select Restore from Google Play.

The app automatically retrieves and activates your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription from Google Play Store.

 

Unlink and reactivate

Follow the steps below to unlink your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription from your Android device, then reactivate the subscription on another Android device using your activation code.

Unlink the active subscription from the original device:

  1. Tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  2. Tap Settings (the gear icon).
  3. Select Subscription.
  4. Write down your activation code.
  5. Tap Remove device from my subscription, then tap Yes, remove to confirm.

Your subscription is unlinked. Follow the steps in the section below to reactivate your subscription on the new device.

 

Reactivate your subscription on the new device:

  1. Install Avast SecureLine VPN on the new Android device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  2. Tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  3. Tap the ⋮ icon (three dots) ▸ Already purchased?.
  4. Select Enter activation code.
  5. Type or paste your activation code (including hyphens) into the text box, then tap Activate.

Your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription is now active.

This option only applies if you purchased your subscription via the App Store.
  1. Install Avast Mobile Security on your iOS device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  2. Ensure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that you used to purchase Avast Mobile Security Premium. For instructions on how to verify this, refer to the following article:
    • Apple Support ▸ Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Tap the Avast Mobile Security icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  4. Tap Not now.
  5. Tap Upgrade ▸ Already purchased?.
  6. Select Restore from iTunes.
  7. Tap OK.

Your Avast Mobile Security Premium subscription is now active.

Avast SecureLine VPN

Restore via the App Store

This option only applies if you purchased your subscription via the App Store.
  1. Install Avast SecureLine VPN on your iOS device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

  2. Ensure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that you used to purchase Avast SecureLine VPN. For instructions on how to verify this, refer to the following article:
    • Apple Support ▸ Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on the Home screen of your device to open the app.
  4. Tap Already purchased?.
  5. Select Restore from App Store.
  6. Tap OK.

Your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription is now active.
