What is an Avast Account?

Avast Account is a portal for managing your paid Avast subscriptions. After logging into your Avast Account, you can:

  • Download your Avast products.
  • Check the details of your Avast subscriptions, including the expiration date and activation code.
  • Remotely control your Android devices with the Anti-Theft feature in Avast Mobile Security.

Is an Avast Account created automatically for me when I purchase an Avast product?

Yes. Your Avast Account is automatically created using the email address you entered at checkout. Check your email inbox for your order confirmation and ensure you verify your new Avast Account.

How can I create an Avast Account?

If you do not have an Avast Account, go to https://id.avast.com/sign-in and click Create an account. Alternatively, click Continue With Google or Continue With Facebook to use your existing account credentials.

Can I change the email address I use to log in to my Avast Account?

You can change the primary email used to log in to your Avast Account. You can also add additional email addresses to your account, but you can only use one email address as your account login.

To manage the email addresses connected to your account:

  1. Log in to your Avast Account.
  2. Click your account name in the top-right corner, then select Account settings.
  3. Under Email management, click + Add another email.
  4. Enter the new email address and click Add.
  5. Check your email inbox and open the email from Avast with the subject: Please verify your email address and click the Verify Email link.
  6. Your newly added email is now verified. If the status is not updated, refresh the web page in your browser, or log in to your Avast Account again.
  7. To set your newly added email address as your primary email for logging in to your Avast Account, click Set as primary next to your newly added email on the My profile details screen.

The updated email is now your primary email for logging in to your Avast Account.

Can I change the password for my Avast Account?

Yes. To change the password used to log in to your Avast Account:

  1. Log in to your Avast Account.
  2. Click your account name in the top-right corner, then select Account settings.
  3. Under Security, click Change password.
  4. Enter your current password and type the new password, then click Confirm.

Your password is now changed.

How can I remotely control my Android devices via Avast Account?

When Avast Mobile Security is installed on your Android device and Anti-Theft is enabled, you can control your device remotely from the Avast Account as well as track the location of your device and manage your Avast PIN. This feature is especially useful if your Android device is lost or stolen.

Why can't I see all my subscriptions in my Avast Account?

Avast Account displays subscriptions purchased via the Avast Store. Subscriptions purchased via Google Play Store and the App Store cannot be viewed in the Avast Account portal. Additionally, Avast Driver Updater is currently not visible in the Avast Account portal.

What if I don't know the password or email address for my Avast Account?

If you forget the password or email address connected with your Avast Account:

Password: You can reset your password using the recover password page.

Email address: You can also use the recover password page to check if your email address is in the Avast Account database. Enter the email address you think may be correct. If you see the message 'An account with this email doesn't exist - yet.' the email address is not registered. You can try using another email address or create a new Avast Account.

If your Avast Account was created automatically when you purchased an Avast product subscription, the email address for your Avast Account is the same as the email address you provided during checkout. When you log in to your Avast Account for the first time, you are prompted to create a password for your Avast Account.

What can I do if I see the error message 'Authorization Error 400: admin_policy_enforced' when I try to log in to my Avast Account?

This error message appears when you try to log in to your Avast Account using the Continue With Google option while you are signed in to a corporate Google Account managed via Google Apps Device Policy. To resolve this issue, try one of the options below:

  • Return to the Avast Account login page. Rather than using the Continue With Google option, manually enter your Avast Account credentials, then click Continue.
  • Return to the Avast Account login page and select Continue With Google. From the list of Google Accounts that appears, select a non-corporate Google Account (for example, your personal Google Account). If prompted, enter your Google Account credentials.

You are now logged in to your Avast Account.

When logging in to your Avast Account via Continue With Google, you must choose a Google Account with an email connected to your Avast Account. However, it does not need to be the Primary email for your Avast Account.

  • All supported operating systems
