If you wish to delete your Avast Password Manager vault, you may do so in the Avast Password Manager browser extension on a Windows or Mac device.
When you delete a vault, all of the Avast Password Manager data that is stored in the vault is permanently removed. If you think that you may use your vault data at a later time, do not delete your vault.
To delete your Avast Password Manager vault, follow the relevant instructions below, based on if you remember your vault password or not:
- In your browser, click the Avast Password Manager extension icon in the top-right corner.
- In the pop-up window, continue with one of the following options:
- Option A: If you are signed in to your Avast account, click Unlock vault.
- Option B: If you are not signed in to your Avast account, click Sign in and sign in with your Avast account credentials.
- Continue with one of the following options:
- Option A: If you have One-Touch Login set up, tap Approve in the Avast Password Manager notification you receive on your mobile device.
- Option B: If you do not have One-Touch Login set up, in the Avast Password Manager browser extension, click Use Your Vault Password, then type your vault password and click Unlock. Click the Avast Password Manager extension icon in the top-right corner of your browser and select Open Web App.
- In the side menu, click Settings.
- In the My data panel, select Delete Avast Password Manager vault.
- If an Avast account sign in screen appears, sign in with your Avast account credentials.
- In the Reset your vault? screen, select Reset.
- In your browser, click the Avast Password Manager extension icon in the top-right corner.
- In the pop-up window, continue with one of the following options:
- Option A: If you are signed in to your Avast account, click Unlock vault.
- Option B: If you are not signed in to your Avast account, click Sign in and sign in with your Avast account credentials.
- In the Unlock your vault screen, select Forgot vault password?.
- Under Reset vault, select Reset your vault.
- Tick the box beside I understand all my data will be lost, then click Reset vault.
Your Avast Password Manager vault is deleted.
