Pairing Avast SecureLine VPN

An Avast SecureLine VPN Multi-Device subscription allows you to install and activate the product on up to 5 devices. After you activate Avast SecureLine VPN on your first device, you can then use device pairing to activate the product on additional devices (including on Android TV).

Before you can use device pairing, you must first activate Avast SecureLine VPN on at least one device using either your Avast Account or an activation code. For detailed instructions, refer to the following article:

Generate a pairing code

Refer to the relevant section below according to the new device that you want to activate:

  1. Ensure that the latest version of Avast SecureLine VPN is installed on your Android TV.
  2. Open Avast SecureLine VPN on your Android TV and select Already purchased?.
  3. Select Start pairing to generate a 6-digit pairing code.
  4. Follow the relevant instructions in the section below to enter your 6-digit pairing code on a desktop or mobile device where Avast SecureLine VPN is already active.

  2. Double-click the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on your Windows desktop to open the application.
  3. Go to MenuMy subscriptions.
  4. Select Pair devices.
  5. Select Start Pairing to generate a 6-digit pairing code.
  6. Follow the relevant instructions in the section below to enter your 6-digit pairing code on another desktop or mobile device where Avast SecureLine VPN is already active.

  2. Click GoApplications in the menu bar, then double-click the Avast SecureLine VPN icon to open the application.
  3. Go to MenuSubscription.
  4. Select Device pairing.
  5. Select Start Pairing to generate a 6-digit pairing code.
  6. Follow the relevant instructions in the section below to enter your 6-digit pairing code on another desktop or mobile device where Avast SecureLine VPN is already active.

  3. Tap Already purchased?.
  4. Select Pair devices.
  5. Select Start Pairing to generate a 6-digit pairing code.
  6. Follow the relevant instructions in the section below to enter your 6-digit pairing code on another mobile or desktop device where Avast SecureLine VPN is already active.

Enter your pairing code

After generating a pairing code on the new device, enter this code on another mobile or desktop device where Avast SecureLine VPN is already active. Refer to the relevant section below according to the previously activated device:

  1. Double-click the Avast SecureLine VPN icon on your Windows desktop to open the application.
  2. Click GoApplications in the menu bar, then double-click the Avast SecureLine VPN icon to open the application.
  3. On the Home screen of your Android device, tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon to open the app.
  4. On the Home screen of your iOS device, tap the Avast SecureLine VPN icon to open the app.
  5. Go to MenuSettings.
  6. Go to Preferences (the gear icon).
  7. Select Pair DevicesActivate New Device.
  8. Go to Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Pair devicesPair new device.
  9. Enter the 6-digit pairing code that you generated on the new device, then click Continue.
  10. Enter the 6-digit pairing code that you generated on the new device, then tap Continue.
  11. Click Okay.

  13. On the new device, select Done pairing. If you have more than one subscription, you can additionally select the subscription that you want to use on this device.

Your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription is now active on the new device.

Troubleshoot pairing issues

If you experience any pairing issues:

  1. Ensure you have correctly entered the pairing code.
The pairing code refreshes every 15 minutes.
  1. Ensure you have a Multi-Device Avast SecureLine VPN subscription. You can verify this via the Avast Account that is linked to the email address you used to purchase the subscription, or an order confirmation email.
  2. Ensure your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription is already activate on at least one device before you start pairing additional devices. For detailed activation instructions, refer to the following article:
  3. Device pairing is available in the following versions of Avast SecureLine VPN:
    • Windows: Version 5.8.5262 and later
    • Mac: Version 4.2.1 and later
    • Android: Version 6.12.13501 and later
    • iOS: Version 6.5.0 and later
    Before you use device pairing, we recommend ensuring that the latest version of Avast SecureLine VPN is installed on both devices (the previously activated device, and the new device).
