How to activate Avast One apps

Avast One is an all-in-one digital guardian that allows you to access and manage multiple Avast applications. It is designed to simplify your experience by consolidating various security, privacy, and performance tools into one customizable platform.

Through Avast One on Windows, you can use the following apps:

Avast Antivirus for Windows (a free version is included in Avast One by default)
Avast SecureLine VPN for Windows
Avast BreachGuard for Windows
Avast Cleanup for Windows
Avast Driver Updater for Windows

Through Avast One on Mac, you can install the following apps:

Avast Antivirus for Mac (a free version is included in Avast One by default)
Avast SecureLine VPN for Mac
Avast BreachGuard for Mac
Avast Cleanup for Mac

After purchasing one of these subscriptions, you need to install Avast One, then activate your app through it.

Installing Avast One

To install Avast One, follow the steps below:

Click the button below to download the latest version of Avast One for Windows:
Download Avast One for Windows
Once the download is finished, open the avast_one_free_antivirus.exe file (by default, downloaded files are saved to your Downloads folder).
Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process. For detailed instructions visit the following article: Installing Avast One.

Once Avast One is installed, you can activate your Avast apps through it by either by signing in to the application with your Avast Account credentials or by entering a valid activation code.

Click the button below to download the Avast One setup file, and save it to a familiar location on your Mac (by default, downloaded files are saved to your Downloads folder).
Download Avast One for Mac
Double-click the downloaded setup file avast_one_online.dmg.
Double-click the Avast One icon.
In the new window, click Allow.
Click Continue to confirm that you accept the Avast Privacy Policy.
Click Continue to confirm that you have read the End User License Agreement, then click Agree to confirm that you accept the terms.
Select the users who should have access to Avast One, then click Continue.
Click Install to proceed with default installation. Alternatively, click Change Install Location... if you want to make changes to the default setup.
Enter the password that you use when you start your Mac, then click Install Software. If prompted, enter this password again, and click Update Settings.
When the System Extension Blocked notification appears, click OK.
Click Close ▸ Move to Trash.
Click Continue.
Click Open, then follow the on-screen instructions to allow permissions for Avast One. For detailed instructions, refer to the following article:

Click Got it.

Once Avast One is installed, you can activate your Avast apps through it by either by signing in to the application with your Avast Account credentials or by entering a valid activation code.

Activate Avast One apps

To activate premium features in Avast One, you can choose from three available methods: signing in with an Avast Account linked to a valid subscription, using a one-time passcode, or entering an activation code. This article provides instructions for each activation method.

Activate via Avast Account

An Avast Account was created using the email address that you provided during the subscription purchase. To sign into your Avast Account for the first time, refer to the following article: Activating your Avast Account.

To activate premium features in Avast One using an Avast Account:

Open Avast One, then go to … Menu ▸ Sign in.
Enter the email address associated with your Avast Account, then click Continue.
Enter the password associated with your Avast Account, then click Sign In.
All apps associated with your Avast Account are installed and activated automatically.

Avast One is now active. To view your subscription details, go to ☰ Menu ▸ My subscriptions. The renewal date or the expiration date of your subscription appear under Active subscriptions. You can activate your app on the number of devices you specified when making the purchase.

Activate via one-time passcode

An Avast Account is required to use a one-time passcode. This account was automatically created using the email address you provided during your subscription purchase. To sign into your Avast Account for the first time, refer to the following article: Activating your Avast Account.

To activate premium features in Avast One using a one-time passcode:

Open Avast One, then go to … Menu ▸ Sign in.
Click Request one-time passcode.
Enter the email address associated with your Avast Account, then click Continue. An email containing a temporary passcode is sent to the email address you provided.
Enter the passcode you received in your email inbox, then click Verify.
All apps associated with your Avast Account are installed and activated automatically.

Activate via activation code

Your activation code is most commonly found in the order confirmation email you receive after purchasing an Avast subscription. For detailed instructions on how to locate your activation code, refer to the following article: Locating your Avast activation code.

To activate premium features in Avast One using an activation code:

Open Avast One, then go to … Menu ▸ Enter activation code.
Type or paste your activation code (including hyphens) into the text box, then click Next twice.
All apps associated with your activation code are installed and activated automatically.

Activate via Avast Account

To activate premium features in Avast One using an Avast Account:

Open Avast One, then go to ☰ Menu ▸ Sign in.
Enter the email address associated with your Avast Account, then click Continue.
Enter the password associated with your Avast Account, then click Sign In.
All apps associated with your Avast Account are installed and activated automatically.

Activate via one-time passcode

To activate premium features in Avast One using a one-time passcode:

Open Avast One, then go to ☰ Menu ▸ Sign in.
Click Request one-time passcode.
Enter the email address associated with your Avast Account, then click Continue. An email containing a temporary passcode is sent to the email address you provided.
Enter the passcode you received in your email inbox, then click Verify.
All apps associated with your Avast Account are installed and activated automatically.

Activate via activation code

Open Avast One, then go to ☰ Menu ▸ Enter Activation Code.
Type or paste your activation code (including hyphens) into the text box, then click Next twice.
All apps associated with your activation code are installed and activated automatically.

Create desktop shortcuts

You can create a desktop shortcut for each app available through Avast One. To add a shortcut:

Open Avast One, then go to … Menu ▸ Settings.
Select Shortcuts on the left panel, then click Add shortcut next to an app.

A desktop shortcut is created for the selected app.

Deleting a desktop shortcut does not uninstall the app. It only removes the icon from your Windows desktop.

Troubleshoot activation issues

If you experience activation issues, review the information below, which explains how to resolve some of the most common activation issues.

Ensure that you are entering the credentials for the Avast Account that is linked to your Avast subscriptions. To verify this, sign in to your Avast Account in your web browser and click Manage subscriptions on the My subscriptions tile tile to see a list of the linked subscriptions.

Completely uninstall and then reinstall the Avast One. This can resolve issues that are caused by incorrect configuration or corrupted files. We recommend following the exact steps in the articles linked below:

After reinstallation, try activating your subscriptions again.

If you are still unable to activate your subscription, contact Avast Support.

The new Avast One for Android is replacing both the previous Avast One app and Avast Mobile Security. As part of this change, the older apps are being removed from the Google Play Store. All new installations on Android install the new Avast One app.

Avast One for Android is a security app designed to protect your device against unwanted phishing, malware, spyware, and malicious viruses such as Trojans.

After purchasing a subscription, install Avast One and then activate the app.

Installing Avast One

On your Android device, tap the button below to open the Avast One app page in Google Play Store.
Go to Google Play Store
The new Avast One app may not yet be visible to all users in Google Play Store. Availability is being updated gradually as Avast Mobile Security is replaced.
Tap Install to download and install the app. When the installation is complete, tap Open.
Tap Already purchased?.
The following options are available:
1. Sign in to your account: Connect your subscription using your Avast Account credentials.
2. Use an activation code: Enter the activation code for your Avast One subscription.
3. Restore from Google Play: If you purchased Avast One through Google Play, follow the on-screen instructions to restore your subscription. Ensure you are signed in to Google Play Store with the same Google Account that you used to make the purchase.

Activate Avast One

To activate premium features in Avast One, you can sign in with an Avast Account linked to a valid subscription or enter an activation code. This article provides instructions for both activation methods.

Sign in to Avast Account

To activate Avast One using your Avast Account:

Tap Sign in to your account.
Enter the email address associated with your Avast Account, then tap Continue.
Enter the password associated with your Avast Account, then tap Sign In.

Avast One is now activated. If activation is unsuccessful, refer to the Troubleshooting section below.

Enter activation code

To activate Avast One using an activation code:

Tap Use an activation code.
Type or paste your activation code (including hyphens) into the text box, then tap Next.

Restore via Google Play

This option only applies if you purchased your Avast One subscription through Google Play Store.

Tap Restore from Google Play.

The new Avast One for iOS is replacing both the previous Avast One app and Avast Mobile Security. As part of this change, the older apps are being removed from the Apple App Store. All new installations on iOS install the new Avast One app.

Avast One is an all-in-one security and privacy tool that helps block viruses, spyware, and other malicious threats. Additionally, it helps protect you and your data from hackers while you are online.

After purchasing a subscription, install Avast One and then activate the app.

Install Avast One

On your iOS device, tap the button below to open the Avast One app page in the App Store.
Go to the App Store
Tap the Download button to download and install the app. When installation is complete, tap Open.
Tap Already purchased?. Alternatively, if you have not purchased a subscription yet, tap Get started, then follow the on-screen instructions to choose a plan and complete the purchase. If you purchase a subscription this way, Avast One activates automatically.
The following options are available:
1. Sign in to your Account: Connect your subscription using your Avast Account credentials.
2. Restore from App Store: If you purchased a paid version of Avast One through the App Store, you can follow the on screen instructions to restore your subscription. Ensure you are signed in to the App Store with the same account that you used to purchase a paid version of Avast One.
3. Use an activation code: Enter the activation code for your paid version of Avast One subscription.
