Uninstalling Avast Passwords

Avast Passwords is no longer available as a standalone product. However, you can continue to use Avast Passwords if it is already installed on your device. If you need to reinstall Avast Passwords, please contact Avast Support.

You can uninstall Avast Passwords from your PC via the Avast Antivirus user interface:

  1. Open the Avast Antivirus user interface and go to MenuSettings.
  2. Select GeneralTroubleshootingAdd / Modify Components.
  3. Untick the box next to Passwords, then click Change.
  4. If prompted, click Restart computer when the update is complete.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your PC.

If you installed Avast Passwords via the Mac App Store, you need to uninstall the application via the Mac App Store. If you installed Avast Passwords with Avast Security for Mac version 13 or lower, you need to uninstall the application via the Avast Passwords menu bar icon.

To uninstall Avast Passwords from Mac, follow the steps below depending on your initial method of installation:

 

Uninstall Avast Passwords installed via the Mac App Store

  1. Click Go in the menu bar and select Applications.
  2. Right-click the Avast Passwords icon, then select Move to Trash.
  3. If prompted, use your Touch ID or enter your administrator User Name and Password, then click OK.
  4. Once Avast Passwords is moved to Trash, right-click the Trash icon in the Dock, then select Empty Trash.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your Mac.

Uninstall Avast Passwords installed via Avast Security

  1. Click GoApplications in the menu bar, then double-click the Avast Passwords icon.
  2. Ensure the Avast Passwords window is active, then click Help in the menu bar, and select Uninstall....
  3. Click Yes.
Ticking Also remove my passwords and associated data results in the permanent loss of data if Avast Passwords is not synchronized with another device.
  1. If prompted, use your Touch ID or enter your administrator User Name and Password, then click OK.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your Mac.

To uninstall Avast Passwords from Android:

These steps may differ slightly depending on your device model, Android version, and vendor customizations.
  1. Open your device Settings and go to Apps.
  2. Select Avast Passwords.
  3. Tap Uninstall.
  4. Tap OK to confirm uninstallation.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your Android device.

To uninstall Avast Passwords from iOS, follow the steps below according to your iOS version:

 

iOS 13 and later

  1. On the Home screen of your device, touch and hold the Passwords icon.
  2. Select Remove App from the menu that appears.
  3. Select Delete App to remove Avast Passwords and all of your app data.
  4. Select Delete to confirm uninstallation.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your iOS device.

iOS 12 and later

  1. On the Home Screen of your device, touch and hold the Passwords icon until it starts to wiggle.
  2. Tap the small x that appears in the top-left corner of the icon.
  3. Select Delete to confirm uninstallation.

Avast Passwords is now uninstalled from your iOS device.
