Avast One Do Not Disturb Mode - FAQs

Windows

This article is about the Do Not Disturb Mode included in Avast One. For information about the Avast Premium Security version of the Do Not Disturb Mode, refer to the following article: Do Not Disturb Mode - FAQs.

What is Do Not Disturb Mode?

Do Not Disturb Mode is a feature in Avast One, which is used to silence unnecessary notifications while you run almost any application in fullscreen. When you open an application in fullscreen, Do Not Disturb Mode automatically detects it and adds it to a list of applications. When you run applications from this list of entries in fullscreen, Do Not Disturb Mode automatically launches to silence notifications from Windows, Avast One, and other applications.

To learn more about how to use Do Not Disturb Mode, refer to the following article:

How can I add applications to my Do Not Disturb Mode list?

When you open an application in fullscreen, Do Not Disturb Mode automatically detects it and adds it to a list of applications. You can also add applications manually. To manually add applications to the list:

  1. Open Avast One and go to Explore ▸ Do Not Disturb Mode ▸ Open Do Not Disturb Mode.
  2. Click + Add App and click an application's panel to add it automatically. Alternatively, click Select app manually. Navigate to an application, select it, and click Open to add it to the list.

In the applications list, you can enable or disable Do Not Disturb Mode with the slider on every application panel individually. You can also increase the performance of applications by hovering your cursor over an application panel, clicking … More options (three dots), then ticking the box next to Maximize performance.

Does Do Not Disturb Mode only work when my applications are fullscreen?

Yes. Do Not Disturb Mode only launches automatically when an application is opened in fullscreen. If an application is already on the Do Not Disturb Mode applications list, it must also be opened in fullscreen for Do Not Disturb Mode to launch. If an application is opened in windowed mode, Do Not Disturb Mode does not launch, and you continue getting notifications from other applications.

Is Do Not Disturb Mode a free feature?

Yes. Do Not Disturb Mode is a free feature, and is available in all versions of Avast One.

How can I disable Do Not Disturb Mode?

Do Not Disturb Mode is enabled by default in Avast One. You can disable the automatic launch of Do Not Disturb Mode for specific applications, but it is not possible to disable the feature completely. To disable Do Not Disturb Mode for specific applications:

  1. Open Avast One and go to Explore ▸ Do Not Disturb Mode ▸ Open Do Not Disturb Mode.
  2. Click the slider next to a specific application so that it changes from green (ON) to red (OFF).

Do Not Disturb Mode is now disabled for your preferred applications, and notifications will continue while these applications are in fullscreen.
