Avast Omni manual DHCP setup

If you have trouble pairing Avast Omni with your router, it is possible to manually set up your Avast Omni hub. Manual setup requires disabling DHCP on your router. You will need to know how to log in to your router to complete this process.

The instructions in this article are intended only for advanced users.

Manual DHCP setup

  1. Open Avast Omni on your Windows PC and go to MenuSettingsOmniTroubleshooting.
  2. Click Start DHCP Setup.
This setting is only visible when your router is unpaired.
  1. Select DHCP - advance, then click Continue.
  2. Wait while advanced mode is set up on your Avast Omni hub.
  3. Click your IP address to go directly to your router's login page. Alternatively, open your web browser and enter the IP address displayed in Avast Omni or go to your router's login page.
Most routers also have a web address for accessing the administration settings. If you cannot access your router's login page using your IP address and you do not know the web address for the login page, check the underside of your router or consult the user documentation from your ISP or router manufacturer.
  1. Enter the log in credentials for your router and log in to the administration page of your router. If you do not know your log in credentials, contact your ISP, router manufacturer, or network administrator.
  2. In the Avast Omni app, click Logged In To Router.
  3. Return to your web browser and navigate to your DHCP settings, then disable DHCP.
The DHCP settings could be located under LAN/Network Settings, Local IP Configuration, Advanced Settings, or somewhere else depending on your router make and model.
  1. In the Avast Omni app, click DHCP Disabled.
  2. Wait while DHCP mode is set up on your Avast Omni hub.
  3. Restart your router, and any extenders you have, then click Router Restarted.
  4. Click Done to close manual setup.
  5. Wait while your Avast Omni hub connects to your router and the Avast Omni app. This may take several minutes.
  6. If manual setup fails, click Try again.
  7. Once manual setup is complete, click Done.
  1. Open Avast Omni on your macOS device and go to MenuPreferences.
  2. Select the Omni hub tab.
  3. Click Start DHCP setup.

  3. Return to your web browser and navigate to your DHCP settings, then disable DHCP.

  1. In the Avast Omni app, click DHCP Disabled.
  2. Wait while DHCP mode is set up on your Avast Omni hub.
  3. Restart your router, and any extenders you have, then click Router Restarted.
  4. Click Close to return to the Avast Omni home screen.

Your Avast Omni hub is now paired and you can use the Avast Omni Family Guardian app to manage your home network. The main Avast Omni screen confirms that Your home is protected.
