When you buy or renew a subscription, your billing entity is the legal company name that appears on:
- Your credit card or bank statement
- Your invoice or receipt
This name may differ from the brand name (for example, you might see a company name instead of “Avast” or “Norton” on your statement). That is normal and depends on how the e‑commerce and payment processing are in each region.
Norton and Avast joined to form the new company, Gen. NortonLifeLock KK is the billing entity for all Gen brands in Japan, including Norton, Avast, and AVG.
Because Norton and Avast now belong to the same Gen group and share aligned billing systems, some Japanese customers who bought Avast or AVG can see a charge on their bank or card statement that looks like it came from “Norton” or “NortonLifeLock”.
This is perfectly safe, and you do not have to worry about the different brand name on your statement.
- All paid Avast consumer products
