Avast SafePrice browser extension - FAQs

What is Avast SafePrice?

Avast SafePrice is a free browser extension that helps you save money in online shops and travel sites. Avast SafePrice selects the best prices from a database of trusted e-shops and displays them in the top right corner of your browser so you don't have to leave your shopping site. It also searches for coupons that can be applied to your purchase and notifies you if one is found.

Avast SafePrice is available for Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera from the browser's stores, the Avast website, or as a component in Avast Antivirus.

I found a much lower price in another e-shop, why was it not included in the Avast SafePrice results?

Avast SafePrice does its best to provide a broad range of offers, and constantly works to increase the number of supported shops. There can be several reasons why a particular e-shop is not among the provided offers:

  • A lower price was not found.
  • The product has an extended delivery period or is not in stock.
  • The product could not be identified.
  • The e-shop is not a part of the supported sites.
If an e-shop is not among the supported sites, it does not necessarily mean the shop is not safe.

How does Avast SafePrice select which offers to show?

Avast SafePrice does its best to provide a broad range of offers. Avast is partnered with over 100,000 e-shops globally and is continuously working to increase the coverage of supported shops.

Currently our database includes offers from major vendors in the following categories:

  • Shopping
  • Travel and accommodation
  • Home security
  • Health insurance
  • Mortgages

Offers and coupons are selected from a supported list of vendors, for products that match your search and are in stock.

Can I add my own shop to the Avast SafePrice list?

There is currently no application process to have your shop verified and added to the supported sites. However, we may offer this option in the future.

What if there is a problem with a product I ordered from an Avast SafePrice recommendation?

While you shop, we inform you of cheaper offers among trusted e-shops. If there is a problem, we recommend that you contact the merchant directly for exchange, return, or refund procedures. When you purchase the product, the transaction is carried out through the merchant and not processed by Avast. Therefore, you should contact the merchant to resolve any issues regarding the order.

Why does Avast SafePrice show me offers that are not identical to my search?

Avast SafePrice does its best to find better offers for the product you are looking for. However, it can happen that your product specifications are not found. In this case, Avast SafePrice offers may differ slightly in details such as product version or color. This can happen if the merchant does not provide correct product specifications, and in some cases Avast SafePrice cannot fully cover these discrepencies. We recommend that you check the offered product before finalizing your purchase to ensure that the product meets your requirements.

Does Avast SafePrice collect any data about which e-shops I visit and what products I search?

The purpose of Avast SafePrice is to select the best prices and coupons from a database of trusted e-shops and to display them while you shop. To display these offers, Avast SafePrice first collects anonymous data about pages and products visited. Keeping your privacy safe is very important to us, and the data collected is not connected to your personal data.
