Activating Avast Omni Family Guardian app

When you install the Avast Omni Family Guardian app on a Microsoft Windows or Apple macOS device, you are prompted to log in with your Avast Account, or alternatively using your Facebook or Google account credentials. After entering your email address and password, Avast Omni automatically activates if you have a valid subscription tied to your login account. If you skipped this log in step during installation, follow the instructions below to activate Avast Omni using your Avast Account.

In some situations, you may need to activate Avast Omni by entering a valid activation code. In this case, follow the reactivation instructions below to manually activate Avast Omni using an activation code.

Activate Avast Omni

To activate Avast Omni with an Avast Account, follow the relevant instructions below:

  1. Double-click the Avast Omni icon on your desktop to open the app.
  2. Go to MenuLog in to Avast Account.
  3. Enter your Avast Account credentials and click Login. If you don't have an Avast Account yet, click Create Account and enter the same email address you used to purchase Avast Omni. Alternatively, select Login With Facebook or Login With Google, then enter your account credentials. If your account does not have an Avast Omni subscription, you are prompted to enter a valid activation code. Type your activation code into the text box, then click Activate.
    Your activation code can be located in your order confirmation email. If you cannot find your order confirmation email, you can find your activation code via your Avast Account connected to the same email address you used to make the purchase.
  4. Click Get Started.
  1. Open Avast Security using one of the following methods:
    • Click the Avast Security icon in the menu bar, then select Open Avast Security.
    • Click Go in the menu bar and select Applications, then double-click the Avast Security icon.
  2. Go to MenuConnect to Avast Omni.
If you don't have an Avast Account yet, first go to MenuCreate Account, then enter the same email address you used to purchase Avast Omni, create your password, and click Create Account. Then select MenuConnect to Avast Omni and go to step 4 below.
  1. Select the Log In tab, then enter your Avast Account credentials and click Log In. Alternatively, select Facebook or Google, then enter your Facebook or Google account credentials.
  2. If your account does not have an Avast Omni subscription, you are prompted to enter a valid activation code, and then click Activate.
  3. Click Get Started, then Next to progress through the welcome tutorial.

Reactivate Avast Omni

If you have a new activation code and want to change from your current subscription to a new subscription, follow the relevant instructions below to reactivate Avast Omni:

  1. Right click the Avast Omni icon in your system tray and select Subscription information.
  2. Ensure you are logged in to your Avast Account, then click Enter activation code.
  3. Type or paste your activation code into the text box, then click Enter.
  4. Click Continue.
  1. Open Avast Omni using one of the following methods:
    • Click the Avast Omni icon in the menu bar, then select Open Avast Omni.
    • Click Go in the menu bar and select Applications, then double-click the Avast Security icon.
  2. Go to MenuMy Subscriptions.
  3. Type or paste your activation code into the text box, then click Activate.

Your Avast Omni subscription is reactivated.
