Activating Avast Premium Security

When you purchase Avast Premium Security (previously Avast Premier) from within an Avast application, your subscription is automatically activated on the Windows PC you use to make the purchase. A subscription purchased through another Avast sales channel, such as the Avast Store, are also automatically activated when you receive and install the preactivated setup file. If your subscription does not activate automatically, you will need to manually activate using either a valid activation code (sometimes called a subscription code or voucher code), or via your Avast Account that is registered with the same email address you used to make the purchase. If you want to use your Avast Premium Security subscription on another device, you also need to manually activate it. The number of devices you can activate depends on the subscription you purchased.

Activate Avast Premium Security

Your activation code can be located in a number of different places depending on the purchase method. For example, in an order confirmation email, on an activation card, or within another Avast product. For instructions on how to locate your activation code, refer to the following article:

To activate Avast Premium Security with an activation code:

  1. Right-click the Avast icon in your system tray and select Subscription information.
  2. On the My Subscriptions screen, click Enter a valid activation code.
  3. Type or paste your activation code into the text box and click Enter:
  4. Check your subscription details for the entered activation code. If you have an activation code for interchangeable products, you can click on a listed item and select an alternative subscription from the drop-down menu. Then click Continue to return to the My Subscriptions screen.

All your Avast subscriptions automatically appear in the Avast Account registered with the same email address you used to make the purchase.

To activate Avast Premium Security via your Avast Account:

  1. Right-click the Avast icon in your system tray and select Subscription information.
  2. On the My Subscriptions screen, click Log in to your Avast Account.
  3. Enter your Avast Account credentials and click Log In. Alternatively, select Log in with Facebook or Log in with Google to log into your Avast Account using your existing Facebook or Google credentials.
  4. Check your subscription details for the connected Avast Account. If you have any subscriptions for interchangeable products, you can click on a listed item and select an alternative subscription from the drop-down menu. Then click Continue to return to the My Subscriptions screen.

Your Avast Premium Security subscription is now activated. The expiration date of your subscription appears under Subscriptions on this PC.

You can activate your subscription on the number of PCs you specify when making the purchase.

Further recommendations

  • Any unused product subscriptions are listed under Other available subscriptions on the My subscriptions screen. To change your subscription on the current PC, click Switch to this subscription next to the listed item, and then click Switch to confirm.
