Transferring an Avast subscription to another device

This article contains instructions to transfer your Avast subscription from one device to another. Refer to the relevant section below according to your Avast Product.

Some Avast product subscriptions have conditions that limit the number of times you can transfer your subscription to another device. To confirm which subscription option you purchased, check your order confirmation email or your Avast Account.

Avast Premium Security

Before transferring your Avast Premium Security subscription, check the following conditions applicable to the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Premium Security (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously, regardless of platform. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast Premium Security (Single-Device): You can activate your subscription on one device, on the platform specified during purchase. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative device on the same platform, but you cannot use your Avast Premium Security subscription on more than one device simultaneously.
Activating your Avast Premium Security subscription on a new device requires either an activation code or Avast Account login credentials. For assistance locating your activation code, refer to the following article:

To transfer your Avast Premium Security subscription to another device:

  1. Uninstall your version of Avast Premium Security from your previous device. For instructions, refer to the relevant article according to product:
  2. Install your chosen version of Avast Premium Security on the new device by following steps in the relevant article according to product:
  3. Activate your Avast Premium Security subscription on the new device by following steps in the relevant article according to product:

Your Avast Premium Security subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast Ultimate

Before transferring your Avast Ultimate subscription, check the following conditions applicable to the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Ultimate (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 10 devices simultaneously, regardless of platform. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast Ultimate (Single-Device): You can activate your subscription on 1 Windows device. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative device, but you cannot use your Avast Premium Security subscription on more than one device simultaneously.

  1. Uninstall all products connected to your Avast Ultimate subscription from your previous device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Your Avast Ultimate subscription is now active on the new device.

Avast Cleanup

Before transferring your Avast Cleanup subscription, check the following conditions applicable to the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast Cleanup (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 5 devices simultaneously, regardless of platform. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.
  • Avast Cleanup (Single-Device): You can activate your subscription on one device, on the platform specified during purchase. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative device on the same platform, but you cannot use your Avast Cleanup subscription on more than one device simultaneously.

Avast Cleanup for mobile devices

An Avast Cleanup Pro for Android subscription purchased via Google Play Store can be transferred to another device by logging in with the same Google Account that was used to purchase the subscription.

Subscriptions purchased via another Avast sales channel, such as the Avast Store, an offer within another Avast product, or as part of an Avast product bundle, need to be unlinked before transferring the subscription to another device.

Follow the relevant steps below to transfer your Avast Cleanup Pro for Android subscription to another device:

  1. Uninstall Avast Cleanup Pro from your previous device. For instructions, refer to the following article:

Avast SecureLine VPN

Before transferring your Avast SecureLine VPN subscription, check the following conditions applicable to the subscription option you purchased:

  • Avast SecureLine VPN (Multi-Device): You can activate your subscription on up to 5 devices simultaneously, regardless of platform. You can transfer your subscription freely between devices and platforms.

Avast Passwords

You can activate your Avast Passwords subscription on one device, on the platform specified during purchase. You can transfer your subscription to an alternative device on the same platform, but you cannot use your Avast Passwords subscription on more than one device simultaneously.

Activating your Avast Passwords subscription on a new Windows or Mac device requires a valid activation code. For assistance locating your activation code, refer to the following article:

To transfer your Avast Passwords subscription to another device:

    You do not need to activate the Android or iOS versions of Avast Passwords.

Avast Mobile Security

An Avast Mobile Security for Android or Avast Mobile Security for iOS subscription purchased via Google Play Store or the App Store can be transferred to another device by logging in with the same Google Account or Apple ID that was used to purchase the subscription. Avast Mobile Security for Android subscriptions purchased via another Avast sales channel, such as the Avast Store, an offer within another Avast product, or as part of an Avast product bundle, need to be unlinked before transferring the subscription to another device.
