Resolving network problems after installing Norman Endpoint Protection

Some customers have reported various network issues after the installation of Norman Endpoint Protection, such as:
  • No or slow network access
  • Problems connecting to databases
  • Problems connecting to servers
  • Problems with VPN clients
This issue is related to the Norman Security Driver (nnetsec.sys). The main task for this driver is passive discovery of network devices. It listens to traffic and reports back all network devices that t received traffic from to the Norman Endpoint Manager Console. As a temporary workaround, you can deactivate the driver on the network card by following the steps below:
  1. Open Control Panel and navigate to Network Connections
  2. Right click on the network card and choose Properties
  3. Remove the checkmark by Norman Network Security
