Error: "Avast AntiTrack installation has encountered an error and is unable to continue"
This error may occur if the Avast AntiTrack installation files were not downloaded correctly or if there was a problem during the installation process. To fix this issue, reboot your PC and download and install Avast AntiTrack again.
Error: "Restart Required. Avast AntiTrack setup has detected that a previous install or uninstall has been completed but requires a restart..."
When installing or uninstalling Avast AntiTrack, you may receive a prompt to reboot your PC. This issue occurs because a file in the Windows Temp folder needs to be deleted. Usually, Windows will delete the necessary files during the reboot process.
To fix this issue, close all running programs and reboot your PC. If the issue persists, follow the steps below to manually delete the Windows temporary files and reinstall Avast AntiTrack:
- On your keyboard, press the
Windows logo key and
R
key simultaneously to open the Run dialog box. - Type
%temp%
in the Open field and click OK. - On your keyboard, press the
Ctrl
key andA
key simultaneously to select all the files in the folder. - Right-click on the selected files and click Delete to delete all files in the temporary folder.
If you receive a message that some files cannot be deleted, select Apply to all ▸ Ignore.
Your temporary files are now deleted. You can now reinstall Avast AntiTrack.
Error: "We've encountered an error. Reference ID: 0" or "Reference ID: 4"
On rare occasions, your Avast AntiTrack app may fail to open and show one of the following error messages:

- We've encountered an error. Reference ID: 4
Follow the steps below to fix this issue:
- On your keyboard, press the
Windows logo key and
R
key simultaneously to open the Run dialog box. - Type
taskmgr
in the Open field and click OK. - In the Task Manager window, go to the Startup tab.
- Right-click ATTray, and click Enable.
You can now open Avast AntiTrack. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall Avast AntiTrack by following the steps below:
- Uninstalling Avast AntiTrack
- Reboot your PC.
- Installing Avast AntiTrack
The issue is now solved.
Error: "We're unable to verify your subscription"
If the activation of Avast AntiTrack is unsuccessful, you might see the error message: We're unable to verify your subscription.

Error: "We're unable to communicate with your AntiTrack app"
You may see the following error message in your Avast AntiTrack browser extension if it fails to establish a connection with the Avast AntiTrack app: We're unable to communicate with your AntiTrack app. Alternatively, the app might mistakenly prompt you to add the extension to your browser, even if it is already installed, or display an incorrect extension status.
If this happens, start by rebooting your PC. If the problem persists after the reboot, follow the steps below based on your browser:
