Details
This situation could occur due to incompatibility of older driver versions for some wireless adapters types used in few model series of Dell computers.
Solution
To solve the issue download and install latest updates from Windows Update and from Dell Support pages. Of course you should have updated even avast! program components.

I’m using avast! 4.7 Professional, and I have the following issue, when I use MS Outlook 2003, mail in the in-box takes too long to open (especially with images).

This usually happens when you are scanning all email messages, or you are storing all messages in the inbox.

Slow opening of a file from a network share

SymptomsWhen I want to open a file from a network share, when avast! Server Edition is installed on the File Server, the opening of the same file takes 3 minutes and without avast 4 seconds. During the opening of the file the CPU load on the server is +/- 35%.
If the file is stored locally on the pc (where avast netclient is installed) it doesn't slow load the file, only when it is loaded from the network share. All Clients are Windows XP SP2.

Solution
When asked to create a memory dump (usually because of hanged avast! program), please follow these instructions.
Open regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters and add a new DWORD value called "CrashOnCtrlScroll" (no quotation marks). Make its value 1 (one).
